About year and a half ago I played this amazing game for the very first time. It was praised by many and I was not dissapointed.

Yesterday, I finished reading a novelization of it that came eith GOG purchase. While reading it, a question long forgotten sprung to my mind again: What has the first incarnation actually done? What actually caused him to feel regret and seek immortality?

It is unknown. So guys, escapists, share your thoughts.

I personally don't have a theory I think is plausible, but the very frst one that popped in my mind was: "Holy crap, he caused the Blood War!"

As I said, I doubt that this theory is in any way correct, but I think it is interesting.

What are your thoughts?

There is no correct answer. I don't think Chris Avellone ever had one. So it could be literally anything bad enough to warrant the punishment.

As if theories haven't been around since '99. But it might well be that nameless cartographer at least found the Lower Planes, and somehow started Blood War - I can't imagine simply wandering down there being that horrible crime. And some of the incarnations were or just one was dick enough to piss off every god around.
