If this works, if the company can pull this off, it will be glorious. I am severely skeptical of a June 2013 release though, cos unless the video trailer was gleaned from aspects of already-implemented gameplay, I am doubtful they'll get the kind of features they advertise in that timeframe for that cost. Still, if they do, this is going to put Supreme Commander to shame.

You mean Supreme Commander? Don't get me wrong, this game looks fun, and it's definitely inspired by Total Annihilation. But Supreme Commander was pretty much the ultimate Total Annihilation remake.

This game looks pretty fun. The small size of the planets requiring "rolling" the map constantly might get a tad annoying though. I also somewhat dread managing planets, moon bases, and asteroid bases all simultaneously. It sounds like a lot of busywork for an RTS.

Better start clicking unplugged mouse while reading news or watching youtube to train your APM, young grasshopper.

Anyways, I skipped Supreme Commander, just didn't looked fun (yeah I play RTS because of fun, not strategy or balance, sue me :p).

I'm the same way, I don't like playing multiplayer because I'm not competitive and don't like min-maxing shenanigans, I just wanna see big robots stomp through bases and launch nukes XD

You made a SUPREME mistake by skipping Supreme Commander. It's a fantastic game, and it looks gorgeous. There are three full campaigns, meaning you have LOTS of single-player fun. My only criticism of the campaign missions is that they aren't open enough. Basically you start a campaign mission, and your battle is scaled down to a small part of the map. When you complete your objective, the map opens up more, and you get new objectives. Then the map opens up MORE and you have your final objectives. This is a really FUN concept, and I love how they implemented it, and the missions are a lot of fun. BUT your freedom in what and where to build are a tad limited. By the end missions of the campaign you just sort of want to stomp stuff, but you have to work within the confines of the map. My second complaint of the single player campaigns is that you unlock your units gradually. This is really great for the FIRST campaign you play, since you're learning to play as you go. However, it's annoying after you've completed one of the campaigns to go back to do one of the other ones, and start out being restricted to only using a couple of units.

STILL don't get me wrong. I played all THREE campaigns and they're all lots of fun. Even the "plot" is fun for an RTS.

THEN there is skirmish mode. Skirmish mode is where you get all that fun openness and sandbox you missed out on in the single player campaign. You want to build up a huge airforce? Go for it. Tons of artillery? Sure. Dozens of nukes? No problem.

There are so many skirmish maps that come with the game, and the AI is VERY customizable. You can set the AI for a casual game, or a PUNISHINGLY difficult game.

Crap. Now I'm going to have to reinstall Supreme Commander when I get home. I want to play a couple skirmish maps.

The expansion for Supreme Commander is great too. It's really a "Must Buy" if you even slightly liked Total Annihilation.

That's Starcraft. Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander are built around the novel idea of success depending on strategy, not just pumping out units as fast as you can.
