Ok so I have Windows Vista. Which was the first problem but I got that fixed and run it with the XP service pack. But now, whenever I start to load the program always crashes when it is loading the TR Sanctuary. Any help?

I'm trying to fix this as well (though mine has evolved to just freezing the screen). Three things to try:
-Check your drivers, and make sure they're up-to-date
-Make sure you have DirectX 9 (you probably do, but, you never know)
-Some of your files might be corrupted. Follow these steps:

The most common type of crash is the crash to Desktop. The game itself stops responding or simply closes, and the player is left looking at their normal Windows desktop. Most of the time, an error message is presented. Some error messages are very useful in determining the cause of a crash, but others are rather generic.

The first step to troubleshooting a crashing issue is to delete the following files from your main Planetside directory:

Planetside.exe
cgD3D8.dll
dsetup.dll
client.ini
engine3d_options.ini
machine.ini

Once deleted, please close all open folders and files, and start the Launchpad. Be sure to toggle a Full Scan from the Launchpad before playing.

The standard install location for Planetside is C:\Program Files\Sony\Planetside\ If you installed the game to a different directory, you will need to navigate to that directory instead.

If you're using Vista and crashing at Sanctuary, you need to set compatability mode on the actual planetside.exe file:

Here's the fix for vista/7 users who are having problems getting the game to play
