I read that any FREE game you acquire whilst subscribed to Playstation PLUS automatically expire when your subscription ends. Through my observations of the North America appreciation program the program also includes a 30 day free Playstation PLUS subscription. All of this information is relevant because the program also includes "FREE" games; WipeoutHD, Dead Nation, LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, StarburstHD. SO...! The Two "Free" games you get from the program WILL expire.

I'm fairly certain you are mistaken, and that the two games are separate from the PSN Plus access.

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
From the post about the appreciation program from the official PlayStation Blog. While any content that you get from the one month PlayStation Plus membership will expire in a month, the two free games won't.

The two games you choose you keep them forever, like a "were sorry" present, off from the playstation plus deal...

So yeah.. you were mistaken...

Quote from that article
"All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever."

Maybe he had misread that bolded part and thought it had meant the games are only available to play for 30 days, even though what it was really saying is that you can keep the games forever, but you need to redeem them within 30 days.

Well check this out guys I was doing some Intense research on the Playstation PLUS. Sure enough it is indeed a fact that when the 30 day free trial of PLUS ends any FREE content you download from the Playstation store will in fact become void of use when your PLUS subscription ends.

Not the 2 Free games they offered. Guys and Gals I'm talking about all the other stuff!

As stated by everyone before me, the two (or four if you have a PSP as well) games you get are free and can be kept forever. They are indeed separate from the Playstation Plus deal. Any free games downloaded as part of the Playstation Plus only expire. Though if you actually purchase them, by paying money of course, even with the Playstation Plus, you get to keep them forever too, regardless if you got a discount or not with the Plus.

Edit: This bit your complaining about with the free Plus games would happen even if you paid for the subscription and let it lapse. It is not, by any means, exclusive to this deal. So, there's not much to complain about.

They straight up said the two free games are the only thing that would stick in the time period. PSN+ has always been setup this way, so they didn't tell you lies. They're essentially giving you a free trial of PSN+.

This isn't too hard to grasp at all.

I think this may be relevant. I don't have a PS3 but I'd like to use this now. You lie about them lying!

Yes, exactly. What you're complaining about was in place before the Appreciation Package and will be in place long after it's over. You are getting a trial, and with it, the privilage to play games for free that you would normally have to pay for, but basically, you'd have to pay normally, Sony's just paying it for you for a month. You shouldn't get any special privilages just because of the package.
