Its a playstation, I'm pretty sure i could toss mine out of a truck and it will still work perfectly fine.

The only reason why it is not worth the money to me is because they build the things so damn strong it would never be useful.

If you have a tendency of breaking things, it might be worth it, but a PS3 isn't going to fail by itself.

The PSP on the other hand it might be a bit more useful for as dropping it is a lot more likely to happen.

I've always found services like these to be a non-issue. If you take good care of your console, you really have nothing to worry about. That's what I've been doing, and I've never had an issue with any of my consoles (save for a RROD XB360, which was covered by warranty, so the replacement was FREE).
