I know the escapist can't decide who pays them for ads, but they could at least tell them to make sure the ads don't suck. If you've watched any videos here in the last month, you know what I mean. First, it was Alpha Protocol, then that "my mmo win, your mmo fail," that would make a lot more sense if I HAD an mmo, and now the slim jim one. I can't even figure out who would look at that and think: "WOW! Slim Jim will help me fight ninjas and win some phony belt with my middle school acting skills!!"
On that note, Please don't buy their stuff.
Don't prove to them that we'll buy anything as long as it has a famous face, some 3/4 naked girls in the background, and some douche-bag twerps.

I HATE the DDO online adds, there anoying, bad, and the volume level peaks with them even though the video your trying to watch is quieter causing you to turn it down then up everytime!

Is it really so much of a problem that you would rather pay to watch ZP, LRR, ENN and all the others?

I myself don't mind the ads at all.

Oh yeah that new Slim Jim ad featuring WWE's Edge was quite random and... stupid.

But hey it only shows up during the videos and I'm ok with that.

Oh god. I had no idea it had gotten that bad...They implemented PubClub JUST before this it seems. I could stand the old BC2 ads at all. And now...SLIM JIM?!

I understand not join the PubClub, as some people don't have any expendable income, but it seems they are almost trying to punish those that don't if it's as bad as it sounds.

Yeah they are anoying sadly they are needed. I actualy made a thread like this not long ago. Just turn down the volume until the main video starts and visit the links once in a while to support the escapist.

I'm still annoyed by the onscreen flowplayer label :/

I've read loads of content and watched plenty of videos on the Escapist even long before I signed up my username. I've spent a ridiculous time on this website (beats revision anyday!), so I don't mind small ads before videos, as I haven't paid a penny.

Well I agree... We're not getting the short end of any stick; Getting free entertainment after maybe 30 seconds, but I'm not angry with the Escapist. I hope they can keep going for as long as they can.
I'm angry/disappointing with whoever makes these ads. Simply put, they suck. I hate the new trend of awkward comedy, or some comedic event followed by some prick (or prickette) listing their business' information like the tool (or toolette... yeah) they are, and most of all, the fawning girls. Unless it's aiming at some pre-teen **** who never learned to say Hi to girls, I can't think of anyone who sees some prick with magic spray and thinks: "That could be me!"
Looking at what I just wrote, I understand I sound like I'm whining. ('Cause that's exactly what I'm doing) But think about it: How dumb do these ads' creators think you are? Next time you watch an ad, ask yourself: Who is this trying to appeal to? Because if you have any pride or confidence, you won't be one of them.
