In the newer games which have some sort of weapons in them, usually have modifications or attachments avaivable. Some of those come in-handy when you're in a pinch, but some are plain useless. So, here's my question: What's the most pointless/useless weapon attachment you've seen in a video game?

For me it'd be the scope for AVT-40 in Red Orchestra 2. That gun has a lot of recoil which makes it almost unusable in longer distances. It's usually depends on your luck if you will hit anything in medium distances too. The scope however takes it uselessness to a whole new level.

In Battlefield- the laser sight and the torch. They both blind enemies, they both light up dark spots. I don't see the difference save the colour.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Red Dot and Reflex sights, what's the difference other than one obscures slightly more of your LOS?

I never liked the dual mag thing for call of duty . Why the hell would i need faster reloading on my first and ONLY my first clip? Unless i'm expecting to die rapidly and often , which i don't .

And on this note, RDS on any of the Russian weapons. The AK-47/u, RPD, and such have very good Iron sights that are totally ruined by the presence of the RDS.

Also, in MW2 and others, the thermal scope on anything that isn't a sniper rifle. It has too much zoom for assault rifles and such, which should still to RDS and maybe ACOG.

...But...Squall's gunblade doesn't shoot bullets. It detonates rounds in the chamber in order to make the blade vibrate, which increases it's cutting power. It's similar to Vibroblades from Star Wars.

Actually, Dual Mags can be advantageous since using them gives you extra ammunition. At least in Black Ops 1 it did. In Black Ops 2, Dual Mags are actually more useful since it makes your reloads quicker as a whole regardless of if it's the first or second magazine you're reloading, sort of as a replacement for the Slight of Hand perk.

OT: The iron sights for the Ballista in BlOps 2. It's the only sniper rifle in the game that has this attachment, and when you're playing a game in which you're constantly going up against guys with automatic rifles and submachine guns, having a bolt action rifle without a scope is not very useful at all.

Good point, tbh I played FFVIII when I was rather young, and thought Gunblades were the coolest thing ever invented in a video game. Rather, I use it as an example because it's really silly, because it's a revolver hilt...

Vibroblade is actually pretty cool.
