The fact that a whole game franchise can be reviewed as one game shows just how repetitive it is. The games are virtually unchanging. Throw in a couple new monsters, call it a different color and you have a whole new game by Nintendo's standards. There isn't even any strategy in combat. You can use abilities that lower your enemy's stats or boost yours, but you don't need to. If you have a powerful enough attack you can just tap A and everything will die eventually.
You only need two pokemon anyway. Its actually more beneficial to have only two. That way they'll be extremely high level and they'll crush every enemy with ease. That's incredibly unbalanced.
And I never understood why 50 trainers are standing by every road and start battles for know reason. They take your money when you lose even if you didn't agree. That's stealing! Shouldn't that be illegal? The writing for them is terrible anyway.
The only time you'll ever have any trouble is when your pokemon are too low level. That can be solved, not by skill, by grinding for four hours in the grass. That's your idea of fun? Mindlessly killing the same enemies for hours by just tapping A?
In the end, this game relies on the WoW method of getting players addicted instead of actually being fun.
