Wish I still had my copy of that.

I've got a few old ports to the PsP that are still fun like Castlevania SoTN and Metal Slug. Surprisingly fun still after the years.

I very much agree. Luckily I still have my old GameBoy, and my copy of Pokemon Blue. In fact, I think I'll go and dig it out of my vastly overstocked cupboard.

Baldur's Gate, baby!
That game is still just as awesome now as it was in '97!

Also: The Monkey Island Series, the Kings/Space Quest Series, and Icewind Dale.

And I would agree on the Pokemon Blue still kicks ass statement. Great game.

One word: Duckhunt. Got it on the NES with the gun.
But doesn't top the pokemon versions. Wasted years of my life playing those games.

Red/Blue/Yellow were fantastic games. I'm constantly sneaking back to play old Legend of Zelda games or Super Mario RPG.

I still play Silver occasionally via VisualBoy Advance, a proxy program. It's fun, and when I set it to 300% speed you can play it even faster. Take that egg steps.

I played red not too too long ago, I really just did it so I could actually catch a Mew instead of just trade cloning one.

nah yellow is better :D
Nah, because you had to start with Pikachu, which are useless in the game. If it had given you Ash's brokenchu, that would have been alright.

Anyway, I would submit that the fact that it had Arcanine in made Red superior.

You know what old games I enjoy? The Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages games. I still dig out my GameBoy so I can play them from time to time.

And yes, Pokemon Blue is amazing. Quite amazing.

For me, even better than the old pokemon games were the Dragon Warrior Monster series. They're still coming out (now called Dragon Quest Monster) for DS, but I think the originals were the best. I preferred them to pokemon because of the breeding system. A patient enough player could get some of the most powerful monsters right at the start, if he had a couple of years non-stop playing (or an emulator with the cheat function).
