I think the writers gave up after the 3rd episode. But after stuff like this and Origins I think they should give up on Ash's adventures.Zontar said:Why is this not the actual anime series? It's so much better then what we've had for the past 20 years.
I thought the same thing. I could picture like the custodian mopping the floors and listening to some tunes and next thing they know, they're getting a face full of melted wall.Scarim Coral said:Granted that Arcanine fire melting the wall seen an overkill! Good thing there was no one at the other end of that wall!
They're not gonna be connected. Like one episodes probably gonna revolve around N getting Reshiram/Zekrom. Another one on Wulfric protecting that reserve. Stuff like that.Hawki said:What do I think? I think it's blatant nostalgia bait in episode 1, and "look, look, Pokemon can be gritty!...sort of..." in episode 2. It doesn't help that Pikachu's voice sounds awful, and that some of the dialogue is just horrendous.
The Pokemon Anime isn't a great piece of fiction, but it's at least a piece of fiction that understands the basics of storytelling. Pokemon Origins might be great for nostalgia fuel (certainly it was for me), but its strengths basically begin and end here. In this, we have an entire first episode dedicated to random shorts, and episode 2 that bears little apparent relationship to the 'plot' of episode 1.
So yes, I get it. Nostalgia shorts, Red is cool, yadda yadda yadda. That doesn't make it engaging fiction in of itself.
