Pokken Tournament is getting a Port to the Switch with, September 22, with more Characters and will be renamed Pokk?n Tournament DX.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon was annouced and will be a redux with diffrent things happening. It comes out, November 17 for the 3DS

Pokemon Gold and Silver will receive a port to the 3DS virtual console September 22 and will be compatible with the the pokemon bank

This was pretty under whelming for a Nintendo Direct and one wonders why these announcements weren't just made during E3. I am happy about Gold and Silver getting a rerelease because its my favorite and the Remake changed somethings about the game I didn't like. Maybe we will actually be able to catch celebi since you couldn't in the American version. I also hope for a 3ds special edition because I have the Red and Blue New 3ds and would like to add a gold and silver one to my collection.

I think Pokemon Sun and Moon was rushed for the 20th anniversary of Pokemon so hopefully Ultra Pokemon sun and Moon is a lot more polished. I had frame drops using the New 3ds, when ever more then two pokemon appeared on screen or using the camera function. The bottom screen was almost useless. And a minor nit pic, maybe they'll fix your character's emotionless face. Also hopefully they're not chargeig full price

I didn't but Pokken tournament for Wii U, probably not going to buy it for Switch. Hopefully the Controller made by hori on the Wii U version still works for it. Usually Nintendo doesn't suck with Accessories.

I think a lot people wanted a Gen 4 Remake or a console pokemon experience.

pretty sure Nintendo wanted to get this Pokken Port and Sun & Moon sequel out of the way now so they could leave the spotlight at E3 for all the actual new Switch games like Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 and any other stuff they announce next week.

while i can't say i'm hyped about what was shown in this direct at all, i will say i think this is another case of peoples expectations being too high. we just had hoenn remakes it still feels too early for Sinnoh remakes.

this pokemon direct wasn't the best direct but it wasn't a bad direct either imo. i still like that ultra sun and ultra moon seem to be direct sequels to sun and moons stories like black 2 and white 2 were for gen 5 rather than just rehashing the same story regardless of them not being on Switch like people wanted.

Its been 11 years for Japan and 10 years for America since gen 4 came out, Fire Red and Leaf Green came out 8 years after Pokemon Red, Blue and Green.

I guess as a pokemon trading Card game Player, there will be new Pokemon cards based on the games but they might not come out until next year.

I'm playing diamond now and keep wondering why people want them! That said, mega empoleon would be sick m8.

as for the OP do you know if it's literally just a port of the game boy colur games? Because gen 4 brought in some really really important changes to battling and I'm honestly not able to go back to how it was before (tried playing leafgreen, nah.)

I know its the port of the GBC games, that's why I want it. Ice Punch with Feraligatr was stronger in Gold and Silver then in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Also you could buy Ice punch. Lance the cheater is about to Catch these Hands for having a level 53 dragonite.

Still waiting on that legendary "main Pokemon game for main home console". Feels like only the handhelds get the monster-catching game while home consoles get the hand-me-down fighting game.

Gen 1 remakes came out in gen 3, gen 2 remakes came out in gen 4, gen 5 skipped a remake, gen 3 remakes came out in gen 6. It is not unreasonable to expect gen 4 remakes with gen 7. Now, personally, I would prefer stopping with the remakes and instead make "new" games in the old place. So a new game set in Sinnoh. No new pokemon other than updated pokemon from the gens since, but a new plot in a familiar place. A Diamond and Pearl 2 as it were.

...they could be skipping the remakes this round? It's honestly hard to tell what they do with Pokemon these days - it used to be the '3 games in the series' thing, then there was 5 games during Gen 4, then sequels, then remakes and originals, and I'm guessing more sequels. Maybe next gen will be the Gen 4 remake? At least it'd be numerically similar (Gen 3 for Gen 6, Gen 4 for Gen 8, Gen 5 for Gen 10...).

Then again, could be later on - Heart Gold/Soul Silver came 3 years after Diamond/Pearl (1 year after Platinum), Black/White 2 was 1 & 1/2 after the first... then again then again, ORAS was a year after X & Y...

You know what? I'm gonna stop guessing what the Pokemon Company is doing next. Their development cycle is not very... consistent. And seems to be getting faster with every year.

Actually it's somewhat unreasonable to think so, and that "somewhat" is only because there wasn't a Z version.
The pattern is: Gen 1 remakes on the GBA, Gen 2 remakes on DS, Gen 3 remakes on 3DS. It's besed on hardware generaions, not software. If they absulut have to remakes something for gen 7 I would like them to remake LeafGreen/ FireRed, after all, they were part of gen 3.

Well, another thing is, they have bene adding the actual old games to Virtual console with transfer abilities. Perhaps remakes are over now since the reason the remakes started was to make up for the disconnect from gen 1/2 to 3/4.

I dont really want a remake of a remake...ever.
