Now as many of you may be aware the Pokemon games added wireless trading via WiFi back when Diamond/Pearl released, and if you have spent any real time with it you would know that a large portion of the people who use it are idiots, now I don't mean to insult anyone who uses the feature, I myself has gained many a pokemon by the use of this feature but every time I boot up the GTS (as it's called in-game) I have to filter through about a 1/100 ratio of good trades/bad trades. Now I find that many people make stupid requests for trades, but I generally find that people like to make the following mistakes/stupid requests.
#1 "Your Mewtwo for my Magikarp": What I mean to say is, people seem to think that people give out legendary pokemon (Such as Mewtwo, Lugia, etc)which are extremely rare, one-of-a-kind-pokemon, for common pokemon that you can't walk 5 feet without tripping over (Such as Pidgey, Sentret, etc), no I'm not giving you the pokemon I spent an hour and a half catching for something I can get by myself in less than 5 minutes.
#2 "My level 20 for your level 100": This is easily one of the most annoying habits I see, people will offer a pokemon, only to ask for that EXACT SAME POKEMON, only at a much higher level, I'm sorry but that's not going to happen, no one in their right mind would agree to such a trade, even if it means getting an evolved version of the pokemon in question(Which I will get to later)
#3 "My Pikachu for your level 1 Gyarados": Now if you don't quite understand what I mean, I'll explain, Gyarados is the evolved version of another pokemon known as Magikarp, but in order to get Magikarp to evolve you MUST reach the minimum level of 20, it's impossible to have a level 1 Gyarados, the same occurs with legendary Pokemon, who will always be encountered at a set level ergo it's impossible to obtain it below said level.
#4 "Have my Graveler, I forgot to mention he has an everstone": the everstone is an item that makes it impossible for a pokemon to evolve when held, now this is one of the worst things that people could do back in the day, but they were nice enough to display any items held by a pokemon at the selection screen (Thankfully), but when you offer pokemon to be traded, it's a complete shot in the dark as to whether or not your going to get a pokemon with or without said item.
Overall these habits make looking for Pokemon on the GTS a long and arduous process that is rarely worthwhile, now I would like to know if I missed anything particularly annoying for you and your thoughts on the GTS in general
