Poll: £50,000 To Never Play ANYTHING Remotely Retro

some of you may have seen the "£500 to never play atari again" thread, well let's kick it up a notch! i will give you £50,000 ($81,400) to never play ANTTHING that came befoe this geneation! so you can only play Wii, 3DS, PS3, PSP, XBox360, MODERN PC Games and anything that follows, sound good?

for me it's absolutely no frickin' way! give me a million pounds and i'd say no, i can't not play N64 or Gamecube anymore

I'm not interested in retro gaming at all. I used to play my Megamans and Marios back in the day but now I've just moved to bigger and better things (or in this case, games).

I personally dislike what you're intentions are in making these topics.

They are hugely unnecessary, and they are just going to insight huge flame wars between the retro gamers (like myself), and the modern gamers of this forum. Causing a rift between these two parties isn't exactly the wises thing to do.

Oh, and the Gamecube is not retro by the way.

No, not a chance. Too many great games to play and replay. If I could still play old PC games, then I would reconsider. It would be sad to miss out on the classic console games, but I absolutely couldn't handle not playing any old PC games.

EDIT: Oh, and if regular DS is out, then even bigger no.

Nope, I care for little for retro games or games on old consoles, there's a few I'd miss but I could generally live without... but if I can't play DS games then I can't play Pokemon B&W, or any of the 4th gen pokemon games, so no thanks! You can keep the money.

Games are entertainment. New games are just as entertaining as old games. Usually moreso even.

I know what you mean, hell, I don't even play that many retro games. But the sole concept of not being able to play a game I myself loved is worth no price.

For instance, the other day I nostalgia-fagged and went ahead and played Super Sonic Adventure 2 Battle with my best friend, with whom I played it when we were younger, and we had such a blast that I am confident no amount of money is worth it.

It's better to enjoy the good small things in life, than have money.

Why do we need to "test our love of retro games" so to speak. I will always love retro, but then again I like new games as well. These sort of threads feel like troll bait, and are made to divide people's opinions. I personally like to hear from this forum that people still respect the classics, even though they don't necessarily play them, but that's just me.

Maybe I'm wrong though, and you are right, but this has happened in the past, so you can't blame me for being a bit apprehensive, and somewhat hostile towards these kind of topics.

In otherwords - You gotta be fucking SHITTING me, most "MODERN" video games (sans rare gems like TF2 and Portal) are fucking SHIT! I'd rather take the 16-bit colours of Rise Of The Triad over the "realistic" browns and greys of any modern FPS that ISN'T a Sci-Fi themed game!
