Now I dont know how many people are like me when it comes down to it, whether you enjoy getting every Trophy, Achievement, well, which are the main concerns here. But even before such things were possible to pop up on a Monitor or a TV while you played through a game, before the bone thrown out to reward a sense of accomplishment. I havent always been a completionist myself until just around a year ago when I decided to try and get platinum trophies on my PS4 and PS3 games, so far I've only managed to snag both Metro games and Shadow of Mordor while I'm now currently working on the Mass Effect games, Destiny and Black Ops. It can definitely be a lot harder without too much of a roadmap too so does anyone use Guides to help them along the way, or do you just attempt to figure out? What games have you completed to their utmost? What games have you tried to complete but failed to get that last one, that truly impossible one.

Looking forward. :)

Nah, I don't see the enjoyment of grinding just to get a couple of achievements/trophys.

Only for games I really enjoy, and even then it boils down to how much time is available to try.

For instance, I'd love to Platinum all the Souls games, the MGS Legacy Colllection, Arkham City, still need half the God of War's, etc. but realistically my eyes might be bigger than my stomach.

I like to but I can rarely be bothered.

There's almost always some grindy collect-o-thon bullshit or ridiculous challenge that nudges it into "oh fuck that" territory.

Currently working on Skyrim...again. Got all trophies on PS3, now working on getting all achievements on Steam before the updated version comes out.

Ive 100% Dead Rising 1...twice. Plan for a 3rd time when I get it on Steam.

Im an achievement whore. To a detrimental degree really, since some games I dont play because of it having achievements I know I wont get. Other games are too late stuck to my profiles.

Getting all the achievements in a game usually makes me feel like I completed it fully, and I like that, but some games make that harder than others. Multiplayer ones being the worst, since most games dont have multiplayer that people actually play.

Only where possible. I enjoy challenges, not ridiculous hoops.

Very rare usually if I 100% (what I would call 100% anyway) something it happens naturally because I love it so much or maybe there is 1 achievement/trophy I didnt get because I didnt walk 500`000 metres despite playing and finishing the game for instance.

I used to have a compulsion to 100% every game I had which tbh ruined a lot of games for me which is one of the reasons I despised achievements and trophys when they came in as it tickled at that itch I had finally rid myself of and allowed me to enjoy games again rather than just play to beat. I just play for enjoyment now 100% something for the sake of 100% just leaves me with an empty hollow feeling. Its one of the other reasons I despise trophys and achievements because it feel like they are goading you on with worthless medals and then patting you on the head while laughing at your pathetic attempt of their pursuit.

Not really. I'll work toward the trophys/achievements/sidequests/mini-games that seem interesting and worth it. However, eventually I'm gonna reach the point where I've decided I've had enough faffing about and just get on with it.

For example, I'm playing Witcher 3 for the first time and while Gwent is one of the more interesting mini-games I've come across and most playable by far, I still can't be assed to do it most of the time because I'm too busy exploring and doing quests in the rest of the game. Even in the previous Witcher games I only did the dice poker when I had to or when I needed to make some quick cash.

Saints Row is probably the only game/series where I probably enjoyed the mini-games/diversions as much if not more then the main game. Especially in 2.

I realized a long time ago that nobody cares what achievements you get. No one cares what difficulty level you play on or what class you play as. It's all about what you get out of a game and how you enjoy it most, wether that's playing on super-hard Iron man mode with 100% achievements or a once and done playthrough doing no more then you have to in order to finish.

I currently have 64 platinum trophies, working on 65. Bow before my digital prowess that-actually-means-nothing-in-real-life! Mua ha ha! And that's not counting the few games that I have 100% on, but they just don't have a platinum.

Anyway, as you can see, I do like going after my platinum trophies. But only if they're doable--which usually translates into NO MULTIPLAYER TROPHIES! Lord, I hate those ones. "Play a match in this mode" or "Reach level 10" ones are fine. But when you want me to get to the top of a leader board? Or get a kill in a nearly impossible way? Or just kill an obscene amount of people? Or earn a reward for doing something that requires the planets to be in perfect sync for it to happen? Screw you, developers.
I have done a few multiplayer trophies. Got the platinum for Medal of Honor, which required getting all seven kill streaks, which meant you could not die the entire time, because then it resets, and you had to get an obscene amount of kills to trigger the last one. That's probably the one that I got the most excited about. Also got Resistance 2's platinum, which meant I had to kill 10,000 players in ranked matches. Never. Again.
But as a general rule, I tend to stay away from multiplayer trophies, and it bugs me that Call of Duty is slowly slipping them in, because I used to be able to get the platinum on those games easy.

As for guides, I will look up a trophy guide and make notes of what to look for. It actually kind of bothers me when a game DOESN'T have a guide, because that usually means that there are a few trophies that people are stuck on, and finding the answer on how to get it can turn out to be a hassle.

I wasn't always like this. I used to just play the game, and if a trophy popped, okay. But then some friends at work started teasing me, saying I would never catch up to them in the trophy race. It was all in good fun, but they planted the seed. And so I started. They were at levels 15 and 18 (I think) while I was still down at like, level 3. And I started climbing. It took a few years, but I eventually passed one, and then when I finally passed the other, they both just kind of shrugged and said, "Yeah, I'm retired from the trophy race." I'm still a bit disappointed in that, because I used to love chasing trophies with both of them, seeing who could get one first. Now though, one only plays Destiny, and the other only plays on PC.

I will usually look at the trophy list when I get a game to see if the platinum is gettable and if it is then I will usually try to get it. But if it doesn't look like I can get it then I don't bother. The way I see trophies is that they are a bit of fun (though to be fair, Mad Max didn't feel like fun towards the end) I have 11 plats, my friend has 14. I've seen someone with 102. At the end of the day, they are a pretty worthless bit of electronic bling.

I'm tempted to, but I make an effort not to 100 percent something unless the effort itself is fun.

Nope. There are a few exceptions but when it comes to most of my games, I consider myself done once the credits roll. Even in larger games like the Bethesda RPGs, I'll keep playing until I get all of the achievements but that doesn't necessarily equal 100% completion. I love Pokemon but I've never once "caught em' all". Outside of Bethesda RPGs I do make it a point to catch The Riddler in the Arkham games but again, that's not technically completion since there are awful combat challenges that I always ignore.

If it's on the way, sure.

If I have to go out of my way to look for it... NOPE!

The only time I really go for bonus stuff is if it gives me something "concrete" for it, like a snazzy new weapon.

One thing I realized, that most naysayers dont...is I dont care that they dont care. I care. It makes -me- feel good to 100% a game, and that is what matters really. I do like when people are impressed, but really its for my own benefit that I do it.

I usually play through a game once without even looking at the achievements list, unlocking a bunch just by playing normally. Then after completing the game, I'll take a look at the achievements I've not got, and see if there are any that look fun, quick or easy. Then I'll skip the ones that are excessively grindy, ask me to play the game in a stupid way, or are multiplayer only.

My Steam profile currently shows an average unlock of 50%. I've got 100% in 5 games, all from Telltale.

Only when I really enjoy the game, and want an extra challenge in the second run, and if the challenge isn't bullshit.
I rarely replay the same game after I finish the main story, if I do I'm usually not in the mood for an extra challenge.

I only voted yes because it was the closest answer to the truth. It depends on the game. If a game is really fun I'll want to do everything in it. So I guess I kinda like it. There's not that many games that I attempt to 100% though. Maybe 10 in my entire gaming life.

Nope. I've only ever 100%ed one game. I can't be bothered to do all the inane busywork most games require for the 100% trophy. It's all just filler to pad out the playtime. I'd rather move on and have fun playing something else than grinding through a game I already played just to tick some boxes.

Do I like to? Sure, but realistically I have to REALLY love a game to put that much effort into it. I think I have a grand total of seven platinum trophies (compared to thousands upon thousands of bronze ones) and all seven of those were games that I absolutely loved to pieces and couldn't stop playing.

That said, with sandbox games being the order of the day anymore, and almost all sandbox games including at least one tedious, collect-a-thon sidequest where I have to track down all 500 pieces of the sacred bear ass if I want 100%, I imagine even my tiny collection of perfect playthroughs is about to grow smaller.
