Would you go on the first colony ship to Mars if it meant you could never come back to Earth?

Nope. As cool as it would be, I would be leaving too much behind. I don't have the greatest life here, but I'd cling to what I have.

While it does sound exciting, I don't think it would be very comfortable. I very much like the comfort I have here on Earth.

Do they even have broadband on Mars?

Maybe if I was allowed to bring a TV-set and every anime ever produced...

Hell no. Can you imagine what kind of games you'd be missing out on in 2030?

Never! I don't have it in my heart to make Life on Mars? have a pointless chorus!

I always thought adventuring space would be more exciting than anything on Earth. Earth is old news. We're stuck on this rock with eachother... the real test is out there. I'd go and see what 99.9% of mankind would never see.

Sorry but no, there are so much stuff on Earth for me to do. All I would be doing on Mar is work and no play. Ok my name will go down in history but it not worth it.

Yes, I would go! I'd take the chance in half a heartbeat! Not only would I be one of the first people to set foot on Mars, but I would be one of the founding members of a new Martian nation! Sure, I'd miss out on the potentially awesome new games to come out in the future, but that's okay. They'll still be working on Episode 3 by the time my kids are old enough to get this joke.

I just hope a defense fleet from Earth doesn't come and try to bleed Mars dry one day. If they do, my descendants will do what it takes to lead a rebel faction to liberate the red planet!

Short answer: Fuck Mars.
Long answer: I really don't see the point going to red unihabited planet with no air. So fuck Mars!

Nah, I wanna stay on the earth. Especially since my political ambitions are all earth based.

Yeah, all the fun entertainment is on Earth. Exploring Mars would be cool for a few years, but I don't want to live there considering everything I'd miss on Earth.

even if we get intergalactic internet and tv, it's still a ball of red rock. so no.
maybe if it was a planet with more life I would consider it. but not one this boring.

Mars is strictly 56K. You'd be eaten alive.

Well, it'd certainly be a life-changing experience, and it's certainly worth it, but I got all my stuff here. Gonna need interstellar internet. And not that HPG-styled crap. I want ansibles.

In short, no, unless a lot of conditions are filled.

So...where do I sign? Would you accept my soul as payment? How about my firstborn child? We got a deal? Fantastic, just point me to the spaceship and give me a second to exclaim "Screw you, Earth!" at the top of my lungs, and we can get going.

Oh so fast. Just being one of the first would be good enough, let alone the first if I was so lucky.
