Inspired for a discussion I saw yesterday on Russ Pits' Five Faves ([http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/6.164265?page=1]), on wich someone pointed out that "game X was flawless, if you point any flaws on it, you're not a gamer", I would like to ask: Is there a thing like a perfect game? Or will there ever be one?
In your oppinion, what would make a perfect game?
I'm not asking what is the perfect game for you, I mean perfect for everybody, a real flawless game.

My oppinion is that there isn't, and there will never be such a thing. A perfect game would have, among its qualities, an enourmous replayability, so people would still play and play it again many years after, and I doubt something could never grow tired.
Also, I think someboy will always find something they don't like on a particular game. People have their personal "tastes',after all...

nah, because its all opinion :) a perfect game, a game that deserves 10/10, 100% 5/5, is a game thats so good you'll never stop playing it(don't mean can't get off it, i mean you'll continue to like it and go back to it at least once a week) its pretty impossible.. it would have to be an MMORPG as then you could add to it to keep it fresh, but hten you have other problems that'll stop it being perfect

There will never be a perfect game, as there will never be a perfect book, or film, or game, or person. Nothing can appeal to everyone.

Agreed, even the difference in taste between realism and stuff like cell shaded are to big to make a perfect game for everybody.

My taste in games is very different to Russ Pitts but I don't come here for reviews and top 10 lists.

You cannot get a perfect game but you can get games where you don't notice any flaws or downsides while playing.

Frustrating timed-limited missions. Stupid spider-bomb-things... One more second with the Vulcan Fury (that's the minigun, right?) which I could have if it didn't suddenly have a 5 second walk to its target where you can't shoot it! RAGE QUIT

I actually stopped playing it for a year because I couldn't seem to be able to destroy those 5 Hellcat cruisers. Then I didn't know what games to get for a certain day and I didn't felt like I should buy Jak 3 if I didn't finish Jak II which caused me to pick it up again and finished it.

Great game, but escort missions, missions with time limits, RACES WITH TIME LIMITS, RAAAAAGE!
Far from perfect.

There are perfect games, but they only ever appeal to an extremely certain kind of person, take me for example, I find that Bioshock was perfect,as well as Dead Space, and expect the sequels to be brilliant as well.

Whereas my friend who only ever seems to play online finds Bioshock to be the worst game ever because, and i quote: "The story is shit and the guns are awful"
I mean obviously he's narrow minded but still a game can only be perfect to a certain set of people.
