I know i can speak only for myself but i think those are things that need to be said.
You stood up for what you believe was right and true.
You wanted to show the world that violence and violent themes in video games can influence people.
All this violence in games, all those violent themes, all those violent tropes, we thought they couldn´t affect us.
But over the last few months we learned that the more you think you cannot be affected, the more likely you are to be affected.
You stood up for your beliefs and in return you were beaten down.
You were made the victim of harassment, horrible insults and unwarranted hostilities.
You received terrible death threats and we only laughed, we didn´t believe you.
You were the victim of verbal and emotional assault but we put the shame and the blame on you, for standing up for what you believed was right.
But you should know that there are those that believe in you, those who think like you do.
There are people that think that what you stood for was and still is true.
So i urge you Mister Thompson, take solace in that.
Know you are not alone, there are still people who think like you.
I am sorry for the horrible accusations you had to face and for the negative impact that had on your personal and professional life.
