Not really, I go achievement hunting by myself most the time and if I have to do it with a friend, then I try to take things slow so we can both succeed.

Ugh. I hate achievements.

BLIP BLOOP ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: You have lots of spare cash to buy a lot of games and lots of spare time to hunt down gamerscore'

I will however admit I did go and get 1000G in COD4 as it was pretty satisfying due to the insane difficulty.

No but i had a friend get mad because i got achievements without trying because thats not why i play games and another get mad because i AFK'd at the easy point of one of the achievements for recon. The one on the highway not using warthogs or tanks and we had gotten to the building complex at the end. I found out my grandpa was dying in the hospital and had to leave and he got all pissed saying if we failed it would be my fault. Needless to say i never talked to him. I was split screening so if my friend died he could play as me if he needed to.

Nope, not really, I did however end up a bit distant with a friend who was beaten in a fighting game by my Girlfriend... and of course the fact that I always reminded him about that. I should stop....maybe
Yeah my friends and i signed a collective agreement never to play fighting games withone another because of simmilar reasons. Soul Caliber 4...kills so many friendships each year.

Sorry, I had to do it.

No. I don't really play games online with friends. On top of that, few achievements require another player and I try to get the single player ones honestly.

I alienated myself from just about everybody for 3 straight days playing through Assasin's Creed again, getting every flag, killing every templar etc. I did get all the acheivments though!! Yay complete insignificance!!

yeah this happens a lot to me since my friend gets jealous of how easy I grasp things and get achievements without actually trying to get them.

which he then classes me as an "achievement hunter/god" and expects me to help him without him dying, failing in any way shape or form, also my relentless team killing makes him feel worse cause according to the multiplayer rule book that makes you a n00b and if said n00b is better then you that makes you a n00b which triggers nerd rage. Funny stuff.

Funny in a friendship break up for a day kind of way

I am an achievement hunter, but not the type who will sink 96 hours into a game in 4 days, or the type who buys/rents complete garbage to boost my score. The purpose is to have fun completing a challenge (much like Skill Points in Ratchet and Clank).

I have had arguements stem from achievement whoring that have escalated into real world drama (what Gear of War Insane has to do with being ditched at homecoming, I will never know...) but its usually stuff that blows over. People fight, its part of life.

Achievements end friendships? What? Since when? Seriously, if some little thing that flashes on the screen is capable of ruining friendships, then guess what? It wasn't a real one in the first place.
