I wouldn't bother with EVE after WIS is implemented if you think like this, even with WIS the game will still be about space ships going pew pew at each other, only now you can gloat about it in a Minmatar bar.

I was in an RP alliance. The game will completely change for the better for RP alliances once WIS comes in. The roleplay possibilities are the main thing about EVE that is interesting to me, it's the only MMORPG where the entire population is basically forced to roleplay by the game design. I can RP fine without WIS but by not resubscribing now but resubscribing when it comes in, I'm giving my vote to EVE that WIS was a good decidion for them to make.

And gloating in a bar is very important to me in EVE, as it is in real life.

I tried to, because every time I see screen shots I get an itch.

Then, periodically, I download the trial...then about 30mins into the tutorial...I remember why I didn't continue playing last time I tried.

Ah, now I understand. Well, it's gonna take a little longer till WIS. CCP already announced the next expansion will see interaction with planets (keeping the usual expansion schedule in mind, it'll most likely be released somewhere in June or July). Whether or not WIS will accompany that is not known yet, but I think WIS will be the 2010 winter update.

Yes, I already read the forums for more information. Seems like they whined for their CEO to step down, which he didn't take too well. (Read: he stole an est. 3.1 trillion ISK worth of assets and self-destructed about 10 dreadnought capital ships, causing several billions of ISK of additional damage.)
