The L.A. Noir incident aside, has anyone been having trouble with their PS3's since updating the firmware? During the PSN outage, I fiddled around with completing (again) Resistance, completing Resistance 2, a run through most of the Half-Life 2 series, messed around a bunch with Civ Revolutions, and got my last single player trophies from Bioshock and Bioshock 2. But, I updated my firmware the day it went live and went out to finally buy Portal 2 (the download was really slow that day).
I enjoyed the first 20 minutes of Portal 2 very much, but then it crashed. No biggie, I started my PS3 again and crashed within 5 minutes. WTF? Went to bed and got up the next day to play TF2 after work. It crashed on the first screen. I can get between 2 and 20 minutes on TF2 before freezing and having to listen to the disc try to spin up. I tried Resistance and got the same thing. It doesn't matter if it is single player or online, my PS3 keeps crashing. It is a 120Gb one and less than 6 months old. The thing that changed between the day before and the day of the first crash was the firmware update.
Anyone else having this problem?
Or, am I making a Post Hoc, Ergo Proctor Hoc fallacy and this is all a coincidence? Is my machine cooked?
What is going on, Sony? Regardless of whether the problem is widespread or I'm the only one, what more can you do to me in a single month? I swear, I'm buying an iPad and a boatload of Steam games if something doesn't change soon!
