I think we have more than enough shooters
It just seems like every game that comes out these days has to involve shooting the crap out of someone or something in order to sell
it's pretty sad

The only shooters I really like are TF2 and Battlefield Heroes. Other shooters are usually a lot alike.

P.S. Use proper spelling please!

Breno, from reading a lot of your posts I have to ask you to please use proper spelling and grammar. Not for the reason of just being condescending (which is normally my motive) but because I just can't understand half of what you are saying. I would advise you read the forum guidelines on posting.

I myself don't play too many shooters so when I pick up a new one its usually a pretty new experience. I also tend not to buy games shortly after release (with a few exceptions) due to the fact that it gives me a true impression of what the game is like through many reviews and because the cost will be cut. Thus I tend to only play well reviewed or seemingly unique shooters.

Being that i don't go out looking for shooters and, thusly, don't end up over-saturated with them, i'd have to say not really. I would, however, like an entertaining hack and slash/action game with a leveling system to it. Basicly, Brave Fencer Musashi, but bigger. Which, of course, won't happen, since the sequel that was pumped out wasn't what i wanted in the least.

It's one of the core genres of gaming, so no I don't think there's "enough" shooters, I just wish they would try something different or provocative or something..

I like pie...

Don't judge me!

Seriously though, it's still a few years but I honestly can't wait for the next big genre.

Nope, not yet. But what I AM sick and tired of is reading this grammar-less dribble.

That's just it, "they good" doesn't cut it when they're NOT good. I've seen far too many shooters than anything else in the last few years since the new console generation finally got together. I hardly see any platformers anymore (or at least games with platforming in them), and RPGs seem to have this weird disease where in they all try to rip of Square, who is busy "re-imagining" all their old games because they don't have the creativity left for something new. So long Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy. It was nice knowing you, having fun with your mid-life crisis, trying to recapture your old days be giving yourself 3-D facelifts and adding more storyline to cover up the supposed plotholes.

But yeah, tangent aside, I'm sick of all the shooters. I know the Wii seems to be designed almost as a Shooter playground, and that apparently the stereotype is PS360 people can't get enough fragfests and frat parties...

But what the hell about us people who don't give two turds about everyone else and want some good SINGLE player games? And I don't mean "create your own game" crap like Little Big Planet and Spore. They're both great games, but when someone wants a good meaty storyline with fantabulous gameplay... well, they'll have to look up emulation or fork out lots of cash for old games, because the new ones are hardly delivering anymore.

The majority of games have been shooters for at least a decade now. If people didn't like them they'd stop making them. If you're personally tired of them then move to another genre, but you'll be back.

I do enjoy shooters but I will agree with you partially by saying that there are too many military shooters.

Lay off the USCM in space and bring out more Duke Nukems and Dooms (they were fun).
