Do you change personality when nobody knows who you are, and you can say your opinions without people judging you by your outside? For me, yes. On some sites and forums, I change into a sarcastic, cynical bastard, cause it's in some cases enjoyable to be a smug jerk and that's how I feel on the inside most of the time. I'm not the kind who yell out idiotic hate and stupidity and write like his keyboard has glue on it, but the kind who likes to argue with the aforementioned glued idiots and prove how they are wrong in their aforementioned hate, cause it's entertaining to read how they angrily misspell every word in an attempt to insult me, while I spell like someone who got an A+ in writing and wants to brag about it (which would make sense, cause I usually do).

In real life, my outer appearance stops me from being this kind of person, which drives me nuts. On the Internet, the ones you talk with gain respect by your intellect or your wits, while in real life, most of the first respect and impression comes from the persons outside, which is a sad fact.

A little.

I have more time to think of "witty" remarks. Not that I do.

Plus, I don't look like a portal turret in real life.

See, theres one of though witty remarks I was talking about. Aren't I clever...

Kind of, in the fact that I'm much more approachable and likeable.
Well, on forums, I find that everyone is more approachable and likable, aside from the outright trolls (who tend to be the same in real life).

Anyway, I stay the same, pretty much; I'm a lot more consoling and friendly in real life, but then again, who asks for advice related to emotions on the Internet?

No. Since I'm fairly introverted in person I use the internet to get myself out there as effectively as possible, because I am awesome and people need to know it.

Not very much. I've never bought into the whole "internet anonymity" thing. After all, just because they don't know exactly who you are doesn't mean they don't know you're the one talking.

The only real difference is that I'm more open and talkative online.

I know what you mean. In some forums, I usually become the wierd, but funny guy that lighten's things up. However, I'm actually a very shy person in real life.

Aside from not having a very slight Dorset accent I don't really change at all. My views are the same, but maybe I'm not so sarcastic and cynical on the web.

Nope. Except on youtube, I try to piss people off just to observe their reactions.

I also enjoy that. On the web, you don't always have to be quick when making a snappy reply. In life, you have to be ready for any comment anyone leaves and reply like you're cracking random jokes at bars for a living.
