Those who aren't drinkers, just hit no and ignore this.

Now, I've recently found myself talking to some newly-minted 18 year olds, and the subject inevitably turned towards drinking. To my (slight) shock I found that I was doling out advice and knowledge on the subject. Things like the difference between bombs and trains, the difference in various brands of vodka, what you shouldn't mix, what can be mixed, what's really bad to get hung-over on etc.

After some soul-searching I came to the conclusion that I am a moderately experienced drinker, though I have only been seriously binging for 3-4 years. I know what I can drink, know how much I can drink, know what I like to drink.

Now I'm only moderately experienced, but I want to know about the rest of you.

Edit: Shit, messed up the poll. Trying to fix.

well I've been drinking since I was 14 (4 years ago) and I'd say I know my stuff when it comes to drinks. And after various festivals and many, many nights out I can pretty much hold my own when it comes to drinking, although I know quite a few people who are more experienced, so I guess I'm kinda average. It's all relative really

Been drinkin' from an early age. Enjoy my beers and scotches, some rums (Appleton estate my favourite). Big fan of absynthe. Yeah I like to think I'm experienced.

I know basics like what i like to drink, what's best to mix with vodka, my own pace and from very bad experiences(from when i was starting out) things such as how to feel better when you drink too much and suitable places to throw up if the need arises.

Thank fuck for cold baths.

I'm not a big drinker, but I have 5 years of legal experience now, and 3 years of bartending experience. I was into my real ales until I noticed how much phlegm was in the dirty glasses after the more elderly drinkers were finished with them...it put me right off, but I hate lager and cider.

So now I'm reduced to the odd glass of red wine, or single malt whisky.

I am from the north-east of England... need I say more?
Also, most of my friends are Irish and Scottish so we drink A LOT.

I know I can drink an amount of alcohol that would kill a normal human and wake up without a hangover. That is my extent of my drinking experience and knowledge.

I know my way around some booze, and I vaguely know my limit, I just don't have the willpower to make sure I stay under it when I do drink, unless I'm drinking alone and just having a single beer.

I generally stick to vodka and cider, but never together.
Then shots if I have the money but I've learned to steer clear of Chartruesse.

I guess I know what I like, I'm hardly an expert.

I would say that I'm mildly experienced having only been drinking for nearly three years now.

I drink differently depending on where I am. If I'm hanging out in a pub or club with my mates I tend to drink Bulmers/Magners but if I'm favourite Rock bar or a local Trad pub then I'll be drink Jack Daniels or Jameson.

I'm also partial to the occasional shot of Chartruce but there seems to be only one place in Ireland where I can get it.

Well I only turned 18 in May, but I'd been drinking a good bit before that.

I know my limit, and I know what drinks suit me (and what definitely doesn't), so I'd say I know the important stuff.
Maybe that's why I never get hangovers.

I drink very rarely. I usually prefer a glass of Guinness and a glass of whiskey. And that's it. No need to drink more.

Not particularly. I know how much it takes to get me merry and I will not venture over that line.

Haven't drunk in months anyway.
