Well since the thread's been moved here,
Usually I'm shy but today I took my parrot for a walk outside and some kid (not a little boy, something 10-13) came over and just tried to pet it without asking me.
I told the kid to fuck off in a threatening voice.
I was kind of scared of myself afterwards.
So yeah, it changes and depends a lot on what the people around me are doing.

It takes me a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to break the ice with a new person. Like, a really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

I never used to be good at it. Now I'm at uni, and if you're shy, you don't enjoy yourself. Forced myself to open up a bit and now I work as a waiter, so I can talk to anyone, about anything. Only way to get better at talking to people is just to do it.

I still lock up around a girl I have a thing for, though.

Both,in a way. I have the ability to just walk up and talk to anybody regardless of social status, looks, situation, ect. It scares the every living crap out of me every time though. I get nervous and a bit fluttery. I still manage to walk up to strangers on the daily though and talk to them without any issues (mostly women as I feel the most frightened about talking to a beautiful woman). My friends say I look perfectly calm and confident doing so and I hope to one day feel the same way, that is why I find myself approaching people so often.

I'm use to gaining friends quickly only to have them abandon me after a few weeks. So I try not to share too much. :/

Me? The thing is about me is that I'm kinda...both.
Well, to some people then I'm full of confidence and my spirit is jumping with joy.
To others I go into Fluttershy mode.
..."yay"

In the first month of university, I sat next to the same couple of people every class and we never spoke a word between us. Eventually we broke the ice somehow and we're great friends.

I'm fairly outgoing when you first meet me, and it sort of plays like a visual novel from then. Depending on how you are around me, I change my behaviour accordingly.

I've always had a knack for talking so I am rarely shy around people, unless they are particularly good looking.

I am shy always have been so during highschool I decided I would break my shell and I started to work on it by intentionally putting myself in situations I would normally avoid to make myself get used to it till I got comfortable. Now I guess 7 years later I can be fairly confedent well at least I act like it even if I dont feel like it I generally just act really silly till the other person starts to laugh I find it makes them start to feel moer at ease if they dont take me to seriously

Incredibly confident.
'cos I know I don't really care about them, so I can be however crazy I like.

Pretty confident, although I usually come across as antisocial. If I have something in common with someone (usually either a fellow gamer or Metalhead) then I can chat away, otherwise I usually get bored and simply stop talking to them. I've had a new roommate (I live with five other people at Uni housing) for a few weeks now, I've talked to her like three times. What can I say, I prefer sitting in my room. It has my music, my games, Escapist, my keyboard and pretty much everything I do all day.

It depends on the people and the number.

When I first meet one or two people, I feel confident and able to ask them questions which will allow me to get to know them. This is difficult when you're in a crowd; even more so when the crowd are all friends. I feel completely lost! =)

Having said that, if there's someone nice I can talk to, I feel at ease fairly quickly, even in a crowd.
