Recently I reached for the controller to my Xbox and upon turning it found a new tab showing some DLC for the very recent game Assassin's Creed 2. Now, it came out on the 17th of November for us people in the UK (Which also happens to be two days before my Birthday...) which was not long ago and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they skip Sequences 12 and 13 because the "data was corrupted". So, now they are expected us to pay extra money/MS points just to download a bit of the game that should have been there to begin with? Surely that is slightly cheap to say the least, it carries the price tag of 320 MS points for you Xbox users and around $3.99 for the PS3 (I do not know) which isn't much, but is still an inconvenience for me. This is probably on some other website but I wanted to see your views on whether you think this is fair or not? Also hearing from anyone who actually has it and if it is any good, but obviously, NO SPOILERS.

This particular game hasn't been discussed that I've seen, but it's pretty standard nowadays to build the game with pre-planned room for DLC to fit into the story. I'd imagine the two pieces of DLC were ideas that were cut from the game to make room for the actual relevant story, as they don't really add anything to the main plot. They're more or less standalone in nature, which is the ideal form for DLC: an extra story that just makes use of locations and mechanics from the game proper.

If you really liked AC2 and want more to do in that game world, it's definitely worth it. If you're good without, well... your experience with the main story won't be harmed by forgoing the DLC.

Hey man, if you don't want to pay for it you don't get to play it.

It's just how Xbox Live conducts business.

The data on the game was not literally corrupted. It was a means by which to finish Ezio's story in the main game and leave space chronologically in the DNA files to add these two DLC. It's a FICTIONAL software problem.

If anyone has played it, I have a question. Does this DLC allow you to go back to previous sequences and replay them, as we could in AC1? I would think it would have to, given that you have to go back to Sequence 12, but I'm just curious, because that might be worth more to me than the hour of new gameplay the DLC provides.

I want to know the same thing actually. I've tried to do other missions again an the game doesn't want to give it up. I WANNA PLAY SEQUENCE 14 AGAIN.

It does not allow you to go back and play missions over again unfortunately. Its also rather short but clears a few things up with the story, so its pretty good IMO. The best thing for me was that it allows you to use the flying machine whenever you want in Romagna. I would say its worth the low price its going out for.

Sequences 12 and 13 were originally planned to be in the game but they had to be cut due to time constraints on the development team. Now they have a chance to re-insert them. They are charging for it because they need to make the money back that they spent on the extra development time for the DLC.

What a pity. Might've been fun to go back. Ah well.

I know that, it was just that it didn't work, but now it does, but I suppose they have their reasons, I was just getting peoples views on DLC like this.
