I have recently been talking to my friends when I heard them say," I don't want Half life 3 why can't they just make a remake of halo 2 the right way." I don't care if they don't want a half life 3 but when I asked them why they told me," because every new game is based off of call of duty and they need to just remake halo 2 the exact way with no HD graphics but with the new xbox live mutiplayer." So I have to ask would you rather want a remake of halo 2 or take a chance on a new series. I find there logic a backwards notion when they said there were no perfect games after Halo 2.

Your friend is a moron. Not all FPS games are CoD rip offs now, like Halo for example. And even if they were the solution would not be to just remake older games. That would make the problem worse and completely destroy the genre through stagnation. So yeah, a new Halo series is what should be done.
