Okay, first off I loved Bad Company 2, its truly a great game but I have been meet with so many bugs I am honestly regreating buying it, I have had the game since the 2nd and have been only able to play the mutliplayer for a couple of hours...

Now this isnt just a problem I have but alot of people have, if you go on to the EA games forums, theirs a topic with almost 120 or so pages of people who bought the game and havent been able to play any multiplayer. In the first month alone the game has been patches 3 TIMES! For a game that was so hyped up to be the MW2 killer, it did a piss-poor job at it, I mean even with dedicated servers its broke, atleast MW2 works.

This problem started on the 2nd and to this day, the 29! the problem still occurs.

edit: this is the PC version.

It wasn't bad comparatively. Where they mostly won out was the comparison "Bad Company 2 VS Modern Warfare 2", and the realization that BC2 is in fact better.

Still doesn't change the fact that by comparison to anything good, they're BOTH kind of dumb.

Until this thread, I didn't even realize there was anything wrong with it. Personaly, I think it went pretty smoothly.

Huh, I only had problems the first 24 hours I bought it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was one of the worst launches ever.

Bought it, played it, and had no problems. A lot of the posters on BC2's forums are just flat out retarded. Their computers suck, they have garbage internet connections, they don't know how to take care of their rigs, etc. etc. A lot of the problems people have with BC2 are PEBCAC related.

One of the worst launches?

Now THAT'S overreacting. Remember a little game called E.T.?

I've been fine with the game (playing on PS3, maybe that's why). However, it's still true that elements of the game are unreliable: the UAV often doesn't have machine gun capabilities, which makes it far less useful for anti-personell use, the squad ordering mechanic often fails, sometimes for entire games (which doesn't really change much except that squad members have to figure out where to attack on their own), and, perhaps most importantly, the knife failed me no less than 4 times in one day. Also, every once in a while the game will call my mortar strikes on MY position, not the one I designated... it's not much fun to watch as a house full of bumbling enemies stands perfectly still and unharmed while you get blown to pieces by your own mortars.

Then again, that has nothing to do with the launch itself, and more to do with a few kinks that didn't get ironed out quite yet. Regardless, it's still a fun game, and I don't plan to give it up for a few inconsistencies.

huh? I played the SP first so maybe I missed this whole multiplayer down thing but I really like BC2. In my opinion it's way better than MW2 as I hate their matchmaking system, and my internet connection is pretty poor so I have lag in every game I played. And not the mention the campers! My good I wish I could blow their building away so they couldn't camp there! O wait, in BC2 I can! :D
Good thing I didn't buy MW2

Are you sure that you used the Alternative fire perk? As the UAV only get the .50 cal if you do.

Just a quick breakdown of questions for you.

First, UAV lacking machine gun, you are using the correct vehicle skill right?

Second, don't knife to kill, knife to insult, or else run the risk of another bullet to the face.

Third, had the mortar thing happen to me a few days ago. Apparently instead of targeting the massively obvious ridge with no cover other then a large rock, where snipers were sitting and curling each others hair, it figured that what I was really aiming at was the little leaf in the bushes I was crouching in even though I moved forward to properly aim. Great job there logic!

The game's been pretty good though and I've never really experienced any glitches. A couple kinks sure, but nothing like people going under/out of the map to snipe me or anything like that, which is a damn nice change of pace.

While some issues are apparent, I think that Bad Company 2 is actually a very awesome game.

Unfortunately, the game seems to have rather high requirements; I have four GIGs (my system probably only reads around three, though; I have 32-bit Vista) of RAM, a GTX 260, and an e6600. But the game's framerate isn't quite what I had hoped that it would be.

Anyway, whether or not I upgrade, I still like it a lot, and I think that it beats Modern Warfare 2 (in my opinion).

oh please, bc2 is a godsend compared to the mess that was battlefield 2142. random server disconnects might as well have been an advertised feature, titan mode was almost unplayable after the shields went down because of all the lag, server browser didnt work PERIOD, more bugs and glitches than every other game in history COMBINED and to top it all off the first 3 patches broke more things than they fixed.

ok, maybe im embellishing here a bit, but you should get the just of it, 2142 was horrible at release, a hell of a lot worse than bc2 which ive had very few problems with.

Considering I bought it from the EA store and still can't play it, like, at all, or even download it, or even login to my EA download manager account, since apparently my login on the site and support works fine but not in the download manager which is the only way to get my game.

So, yeah, I guess so.

Frankly I think the number of bugs in games as a general thing has increased in direct proportion to the complexity of the technology behind the games. It's completely unacceptable though. I'm still waiting for a patch for Bioshock 2(PC version)'s multiplayer problems. I mean, god, even the field of view was screwed up when it first came out.

Unfortunately, I've come to expect this for a lot of games, and not just those from EA. Seems developers these days are cutting back on what matters most, namely QA and writing, and dumping it all into shiny new graphics.

The start was rocky, but not the worst. Some server glitches and stuff, and I still get a few CTDs. But otherwise it's running smoothly. My computer is by no means top-tier by the way, but I play on medium with good FPS. Got it hooked up to a 1680x1050 monitor, too.

Intel Duo P8600 ~ 2.4ghz dual core
GeForce GT 120M ~ 1GB VRAM

What annoys me now is the idiots that run "hardcore" servers without adding "HC" to the server name so I sometimes accidently join the penis-stroking snipefest jokes of servers...
