To all the Bad Company players here, I was just wondering, what type of rocket launcher do you prefer to use when playing as an engineer. Do you like the armour piercing of the RPG-7? The speed and damage against infantry with the M2? The capability to guide your missles manually with the AT4? To just lay down land mines and wait for a tank to roll by? Or do you not like to play as an Engineer, and instead prefer to play as other classes, using things such as C4 or a Mortar Strike to deal with tanks if your team cannot?

Personally, I like the M2 simply because I can use it to take out infantry easier. It is much harder to dodge the M2, and I find it does more damage against infantry than the others, but I'm not certain of that. That and the fact that when dealing with tanks, I normally jump into a tank myself, or sneak around to hit it from the back or side to do high enough damage.

There's nothing I hate more than a Carl Gustav spamming retard who thinks he's good. I mean sure, I have no problems with using it against infantry as a last resort of sorts, but I've seen people with 8 gold stars on their Gustav. It's pathetic.

I use the RPG-7. I always try to destroy vehicles with it, and it kills infantry good enough for me. I'm also pretty good at "sniping" with it.

I like the AT4 or the Carl G. Depends on the map, If I have the Carl G, I always make sure to carry tracer darts for helicopters (and tanks too I guess). If I'm using the AT4, I swap it out for the 1911 instead.

That said, Medic is still my favourite class. I just love the MG36.

This so much. So I use the RPG 7, because it does the most damage against vehicles, which is what anti-vehicle weapons are for. Ahem.

Gustav, yes, its possible to be a 'good' player and use it, if you use it like a goddamn sniper rifle.

Also, halariously funny to grief with it, because when it comes down to it, you can either be a whiny blood splatter or a victorious rocket-spewing dickhead.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I prefer the M136 AT4, if Im going engineer its to kill tanks and choppers, mostly tanks

I find it viable. I'm an anti-infantry engineer most of the time. I use a PP2000 with magnum ammo and a red-dot, and get the majority of my kills with it. Using the M2 is just better when you're dealing with infantry charging at a crate or hidden behind a wall though. It's hard to spam it when you've got four guys rushing you, but if they're close enough together, it's the easiest way to take them out.

Besides, I've never seen rocket spam be used efficiently partly due to the fact that it takes so long to reload that it really isn't viable. Unless you're dealing with people holed up in a building or something, in which case, it's perfectly fine to spam them with rockets and grenades, rather then risk it at close quarters, where they probably have camped out most of the doors, stairs, and windows and are hiding in the corners to try and avoid the explosions.

*Throws platinum star on the Gustav at people's faces*

It's a grief cannon and I love it.

I feel no shame and I apologise for absolutely nothing, especially considering that I still use real guns having a Plat on my VSS, and a significant portion of my other weapons with multiple gold stars, that, and I almost exclusively use the AT-4 now, unless I come across a douchebag accusing people of hacking every time they die.

Also, I snipe with the CG.

It's hilariously fun to grief with.

But yeah, formerly, CG, now, AT-4.

Also this, with the exception of magnum ammo, I'm not a huge fan of it on any weapon that isn't the VSS.
But yeah, I tend to roll with the 9A-91 Avtomat, an ACOG and a CG with the explosive damage upgrade, a lot of my kills come from the Avtomat, while it's also intensely satisfying to kill a squad rushing for a crate.

I prefer to use a weapon that doesn't completely ruin others' ability to enjoy the game.

But whatever.

I like the CG over the RPG simply because of it's rocket velocity. Inevitably I end up using it against infantry, because it's the only long range weapon engineers have, in a game where 50% of the combat takes place in medium to long range. However, my priority with it is anti-vehicle; I use MK2 explosives for this purpose. Yes, the RPG does more damage, but it's lower rocket velocity makes it much easier to dodge. This is particularly true for taking out choppers, darted or not.

i love AT mines when defending, the choke points are so obvious. rockets = cure, AT mines = prevention. prevention > cure

i use my RPG against helicopters though, the only time i use it against infantry is when im gunning in a helicopter

Depends on the situation.

Vehicle killing: RPG, does more damage
Helicopter killing: M2 Gustav, faster and with any rocket launcher it's a one hit kill unless they have armor upgrade.

The At4 is fun to use, but does the least damage and is the hardest to control. (Getting heli kills with the AT4 is so fun to do though)

Mines I only use for launching friends over the enemy base with atv's.

Edit: And then there's the times where I'm an anti-infantry engineer, so I use an uzi with a 4 power, magnum ammo, and a gustav.

this proves my point, the AT mine is so underrated. if you put 3 on each route and stick with an assault guy who can give you more AT mines and reinforce them with C4. a good engineer /assualt pairing can be a formidable defencive force

You forgot the fact that any explosion can set them off, they're easily spotted, and you can only set up 4(or is it 6) of them. That doesn't seem like a good defense.

Then again, I also use C4 which will destroy almost any vehicle with 2 blocks.
