Yes, because the voice actors sounded really into what they were doing, hmm?messy said:Oblivion wasn't necessarily bad voice acting there was just only about 15 voices distributed around a map the size of a small islandSquid94 said:Wet and Oblivion had bad voice acting, but they were both pretty good, especially Oblivion. yeah I suppose your right, but I didn't really focus too much on what the non-story important NPCs said, and every so often you could loose your self in the soft dreamy tones of Sean Bean..Squid94 said:Yes, because the voice actors sounded really into what they were doing, hmm?messy said:Oblivion wasn't necessarily bad voice acting there was just only about 15 voices distributed around a map the size of a small islandSquid94 said:Wet and Oblivion had bad voice acting, but they were both pretty good, especially Oblivion. I guess the distribution is the biggest flaw, but they could have put more effoort into sounding remotely involved in their character.
If the voice acting is that bad,I just start to use the *skip* button. If the game has a lot of long, unskippable cutscenes, then I'm quitting the game for that reason.Georgeman said:OK, let's face it. Voice acting has been existent in games for a long time. From what I remember even the first System Shock and Sam & Max: Hit the Road had voice acting (just in their cd versions).
It's been about 15 years since the release of both aforementioned games. And despite that, there are still voice acting "gems" around. Games that potentially rival the first Resident Evil, House of the Dead 2, the first Silent Hill, etc.
My question is: Have you played any game that had voice acting so bad you just stopped playing it for a while or completely? Or did you just mute the voices? Or you just didn't bother?
For me it would have to be the introduction of the Valkyrie Profile. It almost stopped me from progressing into the game. Thank god it doesn't have voice acting for all its dialogues.
P.s. For those of you who want to hear some of those "gems", here. [http://www.audioatrocities.com/]
