Poll: Batman: Arkham Asylum to be or not to be?

Now this seems to always happen when a new Batman game get's close to release everyone starts to debate whether it'll be the best Batman game ever or not so it's only fair that Batman Arkham Asylum get's the same treatment.

It has a lot going in it's favor that other Batman games before it didn't like Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series)writing the script and Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy doing the Joker and Batman's voices respectively but is it enough we won't truly know til June I guess but until then let the speculation commence.

The only real flaw I found in the first Arkham Asylum was that it wasn't all that lasting of an experience. It was a really solid, strong game, but it didn't leave an impact. Not in the way that DMC 3 or No More Heroes did to me.

If AA2 can do that, then yes, it will be the best Batman game EVARZ.

But we won't know until it's out.

It had some great set pieces, the combat was fun, the gadgets worked nice, voice acting really fit. If Arkham Asylum two is more of the same it'll at least be servicable.

Second, this thread is over a year old. What you have done is called "necroing" a thread, and it is generally frowned upon. This OP was asking whether people think this game will be good, because the question was asked before the game was released. The game is almost a year old now, so the question is moot.

In the future, if you see a thread that you find interesting, and nobody has contributed to it for over a month, start a new thread.

I've borrowed it from a friend and played it some but I tend to find my self looking for a distraction from the game. I was really looking forward to it but so far, it hasn't grabbed me and I feel that it's just swimming in a sea of mediocrity. That being said, I've only put a few hours into it so maybe it will pick up but it is already starting to feel somewhat repetitive.

Arkham Asylum 2 isn't the title, it's a placeholder until they announce the title. And the game does take place in Gotham propper.

It has a different setting, it could also be a title pending thing, but it could also just be a franchise name.

I don't know, I love the first game and the world has enough good sandbox games for now XD.

But I have to admit, being able to drive the Bat-mobile and such would be awesome.

It wouldn't be hard to make it fantastic, just keep the formula. Having Mark Hamil voice the Joker will instantly make it great for me, but having a sandbox gotham to go around would... well, I can't even describe it.

If they do manage to fuck it up, I feel safe in saying that no few people on the development team will have their kidneys on a stick in my bedroom.

Depends on the idea i mean Batman:"Arkham Asylum"=repetitive,why? well your on the same place and in Arkham Asylum 2 Batman would be inside Arkham Asylum dont he?

In this case whats the difference? The original post never got one response, basically she made a thread under somebody else account.
