Poll: Bayonetta, A game TOO Japanese?

Bayonetta was recently released in Japan and met great sales and reception, including a perfect score from Famitsu. But would we like it here in the west. It is incredibly strange and over the top. Take, for example this trailer. I really advise you to fully watch it.

Now I don't know what to make of that. Apparently it's a great hack n slasher, but that is just so f***ing weird. I've also heard that you hear that music during the entire game.

So what do you think? Do you think you'll be able to enjoy Bayonetta even though it's the strangest sh*t to come out of Japan since Rapelay?

You know, I looked up this game a while back and watched some of the gameplay videos. My reaction was a less-than-desirable "meh." Seeing this rather random video is not doing much to help that reaction.

I don't know if I'd classify this as "too Japanese," but I do understand why the fanboys are all over it. Then again, having lived there, they're all over anything if the boob size is bigger than an A-cup...

Um... what was the point of that video? Did they just make some pointless dance clip as a promotion or was that somehow in-game footage? Either way it's fairly bizarre and the uncanny valley well in effect throughout.

I couldn't tell if the music was annoying since I was already listening to music before I clicked that link, so I just muted it while 10th Man Down (by Nightwish) was playing. I'm guessing it was from the comments, so huzzah for avoiding that at least!

It probably is too Japanese to do well in the Americas/Europe, just as there are certainly games that are too American to do well in Japan.

It's not going to sell well here. Sure, it has boobs, but it also has a style of art that most gamers will not be able to get by. It'll probably go the way of Heavenly Blade.

Anyone who gets this game because the girl is going to be getting naked is a sad sap indeed. There's free porn on the Internet that's made just for you, kiddo.

And that dance scene was just the same animation looped over and over and over and over and over again.

Fits with the main character from whom (I believe..) is a over the top sorceress, from whom fights like a dancer... with pistols.
