Voted Pink Floyd - probably one of my all time favourite bands. However, I do think that King Crimson should have a place on the list - it's an amazing band, and their debut album "In the Court of the Crimson King" from '69 is in my opinion the best album ever made, and is generally regarded as the most influential progressive rock album ever.

All the options represent some really good music, though.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience is a hard band to classify. Jimi was from Seattle but a couple members of the band were English.

I get why at the time the beatles were so populare, but their music has realll really not aged well, so I don't understand their popularityu today other than everyone has different tastes.
My vote went with pink floyd, possibly "the" best band ever, but I would have voted for ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars (aka david bowie) if it had been there... bad limited poll... bad...

My vote would go for the mighty Pink Floyd and Hawkwind!

EDIT: Anybody remember Hawkwind? Hurry up Sundown, Master of the Universe, Silver Machine?

RE-EDIT: Honourable mention must go to The Police, say what you want about that tosser Sting but The Police did some awesome stuff!

Also now I think about it Adam and the Ants need a mention too!

Hard choice, obviously Queen were the best of the group, but I like Zeppelin more so I'll vote there

No Sex Pistols? Ok since your facist poll wont have them i guess ill go with Queen although Cream isnt on there either...
They were 80's
And where the fuck is Black Sabbath?
The Sex Pistols formed in 1975 and God save the Queen was released in 1977.

Im going with Iron Maiden, again not on the list.
Maiden didn`t relase their first album till `80

Pink Floyd, due to their crazy innovation. No one, not even Beatles or Led Zeppelin, went as far as Pink Floyd when it came to sonic experimentation.

Erm...Jimi Hendrix Experience anybody?
I suspect he's disqualified on the grounds the poll is for British music.

Yes but they formed in 1975, so they were a band in the 70's.

No, i'm not reeling, considering the Jimi Hendrix Experience was formed in LONDON and the only non - English member was Jimi Hendrix

EDIT: forgot to add that Jimi spent so much time in Britain and loved the country so much that he might as well have been British
