This has been kind of done earlier but i wish to do it better. I've put on a poll what i beleive to be the top game series. Please select one or press Other and put your other.

However to make this different to other threads similar, please also put the reasons why you like this genre, what made it stand out for you? was it the graphics, storyline, maybe an experience you had or maybe you play it over LAN with friends/family?

EDIT: changed NFS to Warcraft as tbh, Warcraft is more popular and better, altho not many people i know played anything before WoW

resident evil has an amazing story with amazing characters and zombies so its got my vote.

Metal Gear Solid definetly deserves mentioning - game design is always excellent and the games are always very varied. Although if you're not interested in the story it can bore you pretty hard.
Then there's also Zelda, God of War and Half-Life, same level of awesome game- and (in Zelda's case)leveldesign.
It's much too hard to pick so I voted 'other'

Im gonna go ahead and say Mass Effect.

Sure the game had its flaws and crappy framerate at points but there has never been another game (bar Oblivion) that has truly made me believe in the whole setting. The game is just all sorts of awesome.

My first "true" game is Dawn Of War and to me I just love it so I choose that.

You do know that not all the COD games were made by Infinity Ward right? Some of them were made by Treyarch.
