Poll: Best single-player game?

Read title... Note that these are somewhat alternative games I'd like to hear opinions on (since I haven't heard much of them), I'm not holding a competition for best games ever. Just want to know which are good.

EDIT: I've played Fallout 3, Oblivion, Painkiller, and they got boring after a short while. Also, I've played Bioshock, which was good. Just so everyone knows, the list is games I haven't played yet. This is purely a check for future reference.

EDIT 2: I removed the options "other". You may recommend games through posts, but it seems useless to have that alternative, since I don't get any opinion on the games I've put up.

Ahh, Isn't halo wars Online co-op too? Pretty much everyone plays halowars for the multiplayer because its pretty much impossible to beat it on legendary alone. Trust me, I tried.

Me too, but this thread is just as pointless as the other "BEST GAME EVAR???!!" threads. Most games are about single player. Online gaming is a relatively new thing and I can count great games with huge and active online communities on my fingers. Single player games on the other hand are various and numerous, so yeah, it's pointless.

Not to mention the choices are not very good, unless you count "other".

Anyways, it's cool to see someone else like Killer 7.

My favorites would deffinitely be Yggdra Union, Metroid Prime, and Elite Beat Agents.

Thats kind of a lame list to choose from.
Fallout 3 for sure, Portal, i'd recommend mirrors edge and Far Cry 2. They were interesting games that had a few (major) flaws, but were still really fun. Metal Gear SOlid is pretty great too, same with Hitman Blood money.

I've played Fallout 3, and from my point of view, it seems pretty bland and repetitive. Especially the V.A.T.S system. Oh sure, it's fun the first times, but it's boring to entrust yourself with the same strategy over and over again. It came close to my vision of a good FPS/RPG, and I welcomed it with open arms, but then I noticed how it was too close to Oblivion, and I walked away and played something less repetitive.
