Star trek: The Next Generation is my favorite tv series of all time. However Voyager is getting really good. I'm towards the end of season 4 now, and it's up there with TNG. The first season I found boring with too much filler, the second was better but still had a little filler, but it was towards the end of the second the series really picked up.

I've watched most of Deep Space nine, I was in the middle of season six before I stopped. Also I've only seen a few episodes of the original series.

So I'm not sure yet. Of course TNG will always be my favorite, even if Voyager is better. It has a lot to do with the characters.

So which is your favorite?

I liked the original a bit better than the rest...
Meh, just me. Haven't watched that much Star Trek, though.

Well the thing is each Star Trek is something different. For some DS9 is there favorite, for others it is Next Gen. Each have there own hook into the audience. At most it kind of boils down to which is your favorite flavor of Star Trek, as to what you think is the best. One really isn't better then the other.

I liked all of the captains & my favorite character was Q, but I remember Voyager being the last sci-fi series I ever watched before I swore-off sci-fi.

I have a nostalgic attachment to Voyager.
However, the writing was horribly inconsistent in that series.
Kate Mulgrew's performance as Captain Janeway was a brilliant piece of acting, and it speaks volumes of her talent as she could make the character sympathetic despite the awful writing dedicated to her persona.

Voyager... the best? you've got to be kidding! It was the start of the end of Star Trek, Mary Sue Janeway and her marry band of murderers and hypocrites.

Deep Space Nine was best of the new Trek, it at least had decent actors, a plot line, continuation, without resorting to titties to get 13 year olds to watch.

I liked DS9 most, it was focusing more on the characters and a sophisticated storyline rather than the classic Star Trek exploration theme.

Voyager tries to be somewhere between the two of them... but that didn't really work for me. However, it's still better than Enterprise or TOS.

A tricky question indeed.
I used to love Voyager unconditionally - it was right up there with Next Gen for my favourite Star Trek series. But then I started seeing failure in the writing. Janeway is quite Mary Sue, and I feel her personality changes quite a bit. Also it was irritating how Voyager became the 7 of 9 show. 7's a great character, but there are other characters. Somehow they managed to get her phenomenal figure and by extension the rest of her to play a major part in most shows.
Next Gen will always be my first love (The combination of Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner cannot be beaten for awesomeness), but I'd say second place is ripe for the picking between all of the other series that aren't Enterprise, because we all know that Enterprise was a piece of shit.

Personally for me TNG is the top with Voyager, Deep space nine, Enterprise then the original series following in that order.

Picard>>>Janeway>>Cisco>Archer>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kirk.

I rank them:

Next Generation
Deep Space 9
The Original Series
Enterprise -tied with- Voyager

They all have their moments and I can't say that I 'dislike' any of them, but Voyager and Enterprise were definitely the weakest.

The single biggest problem I had with Voyager is that Janeway was extremely inconsistently written generally tending towards sociopath tendencies. Plus Harry Kim was wooden, Nelix was annoying...etc...

There always something about Voyager I loved. So it get's my vote overall.

However, Series 6 of DS9 (Effectively the Dominion War) is my favourite single series.

I like DS9... Garak, Doctor Julian Bashir, Dax, Worf, O'Brien, QUARK! BENJAMIN SISKO! And last but certainly not least, the brilliant... magnificent... hilarious and talkative... MORN! :D

Also I like Voyager for this reason and this reason alone... The first time a woman becomes captain in one of the Star Treks and she gets lost. XD

Actually, I can think of 2 other reasons... 7 of 9 for obvious reasons and the doctor, because he is awesome.

Yes seven of nine has some very nice....eyes. Lol. I didn't think of the fact that the first time a woman becomes captain in one of the Star Treks and she gets lost.

Yes, a lot of people seem to miss that but I spotted it straight away and it is a source of much humour for me.

Also yes, 7 of 9... she seems very healthy.
