So by now some of the the dust seems to have settled over TDKR. It may be time we start asking which Superhero film was the most enjoyable so far this year. I've listed all the superhero movie in order of release date.

Chronicle
Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance
The Avengers
Amazing Spiderman
The Dark Knight Rises

Well I personally enjoyed TDKR a lot as a conclusion to Christopher Nolan's trilogy, I think the Avengers was my favourite film.

What was your favouirte?

I'm fairly certain that I'm in the minority (and looking forward to that being proven once The Avengers kills the other few options on your poll) but I'm going The Dark Night Rises.

In my ever so humble opinion, I believe that TDKR is the best of the trilogy (not an easy task considering film #2). I believe that Selina Kyle is one of the most interesting characters (and easily the most interesting female) in the trilogy. *SPOILER* I believe that Bane/Talia Al Ghul had the best and most interesting plan in the entire trilogy. *END SPOILER* I believe that The Scarecrow's cameo put the biggest smile on my face.

All in all, Batman wins. Why? Because he's The Goddamn Batman

The Avengers, hands down.

It's everything I want from my superhero movies.

The Amazing Spider-Man wasn't as bad I was lead to believe, in fact I thought it was pretty damn good. Not Spider-Man 2 good, but a good film nonetheless.

The Dark Knight Rises was great, but I felt that it really started to lose it around the big plot twist.

Definitely The Avengers. TDKR was absolutely amazing but goddamn did I enjoy The Avengers about a million times more. It was just a blast to watch; well written, well paced, brilliantly acted it's just so damn awesome.

Spiderman was just all over the place, Batman was definitely commendable. It was the only thing that could possibly pose a threat to Avengers and that being said....

The reason that The Avengers was probably the best was because it had a bigger build up in my opinion whilst Batman only had two compared to Avenger's five. (Batman had Heath Feckin' Ledger so Nolan's trilogy probably will never be forgotten though)

As for why Chronicles wasn't a big smash? I think it was cos it's a superhero movie without any 'superheroes' from Marvel or DC (or equivalent)

Chronicle because I love deconstructions. The Avengers was great however Chronicle provoked a more emotional response from me.

The Dark Knight Rises just did it for me. I can't point to any specific thing... it just worked for me. I really enjoyed it.

Chronicle is currently my #1 film of this year. It also had a strong emotional impact on me as well.

Unsurprisingly no love for Amazing Spiderman at this point.
How is that not surprising? That movie was absolutely great.
More a comment of the competition. It's hard going against the Avengers and TDKR.

I'm going to say TDKR and this is my personal opinion but I Liked it more than TDK.
Special mention should go to Avengers which I also loved and Chronicle which was actually surprisingly bloody good and this is coming from someone who went to the movie ready to rip it to pieces

Ghost Rider? pssh that movie was so bad not only did I get cancer, but them it healed me just to give me super AIDS.

Note: Anything with Nick Cage does that to me. God I hate that man.

Ghost Rider. The writing, acting, and direction just blew me away. Christoper Nolan and Joss Whedon need to take notes from that movie.

Just kidding, GR2 ranks as one of the worst superhero movies in years. I'd probably have to go with TDKR, but the Avengers is pretty close.

Not really. Viewed side by side and note for note, I think you could actually find more to ***** about in TDKR than in Amazing Spider-Man. Personally, I'd actually put Spider-Man in second place for the year after Avengers, and even then, a very close second.
Batman seemed to inspire fanaticism in a lot of people though. Admittedly that there's a vote for GR is more surprising (I'd guess joking though).

I don't go to the cinema any more.
But you can bet your hind quarters that I saw Avengers in theatres.
It was my brother's birthday, so we caught a late showing.
AND. IT. WAS. AWESOME.
Easily one of the best two hours I've spent outside my home in quite some time.

As much as I love Batman, The Avngers gets it for me. It's everything I wanted from a group superhero movie, and really fun.
