I did a search, and I didn't find anything about this topic.

I think the best was when the Eiffel tower got blown up in MW3. It was unexpected, shocking, awesome, and satisfying at the same time. It also really annoyed my french friend.

What was your favorite moment and why? If I forgot any please tell me which I should add.

EDIT:

How "No Russian" Should have gone down: http://bcove.me/s9w9uylv

Nuclear bomb from MW1. Everything ever to happen in Modern Warfare after that was entirely predictable. By MW3, the death of a kid was obviously just a contrived effort to drum up some controversy (and therefore publicity) in the way that "No Russian" did with MW2.

I agree with you, the kids death was really stupid and contrived. They should have left it out.

At least "No Russian" served some purpose to progress the plot. They could have left out the kid dying and it would have made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the experience as a whole.

I'd say No Russian, because taken completely out of context it's (accidentally) pretty awesome. Especially since you're given a choice to shoot or not, but if you don't shoot too openly then Makarov calls you a coward and executes you. Peer pressure, basic morality and it's also really important to the plot - pity it got censored in a lot of places, had an option to skip it and the game never has any more scenes that are as good.

The last hour of MW2 wowed me. I mean, the rest was shit, but that part was pretty good.

Ghost ;.;
So you're saying you like the entire game, but it was shit?
Zing!

OT:Haven't played MW3, but I think for ridiculousness sake the final bit of MW2 takes the cake.

I liked MW3 mainly because it focussed on WW3, and for that particular fictional conflict, its the best depiction in video games as of yet.

Eiffel tower blowing up was unexpected? In a game where everything explodes, you thought it was unexpected? It was in the trailer!!! Alright, in your defense, all you saw in the trailer was a big explosion at the base of the tower...

I voted No Russian just due to the sheer horror with the nuke (you want to talk unexpected, no one expects the hero to die in gaming) coming in a close second.

Makarov chews you out if you don't shoot? That's pretty freaking sweet. I fired but I fired over people's head (I couldn't do it...)

End of MW2 is just so incredibly badass that I can't help but love it, and Soap for doing it.

Okay, so there are a few dudes in an elevator with body armor. Elevator doors open. Oh, so I'm one of the dudes in body armor! Okay, so I'm walking out of the elevator and they all have machine guns. Where are we? Looks like an airport checkpoint. The crowd doesn't seem to care. Are we security officers or some... JESUS THE CHIRST SON OF GOD. The way that entire level is set up is just the perfect mood. The unsettling music, civilians bleeding out on the ground or dragging each other to safety, the security agents and SWAT team futilely trying to stop you... just wow. It's a shame MW3's single player campaign isn't nearly as good.

Uh CoD 4's Nuke scene, for obvious reasons. AKA it was really well done.

I mean yeah MW2's Sheapard's bullshit betrayal was shocking an' all but honestly it's as contrived as shit.

Um Infinity Ward? Insanity isn't a get out of contrivance free card! As much as you seem to want it to be.

And I have nothing good to say about MW3's child killing shenanigans. Killing a kid is always a forced attempt to get some emotional reaction out of you. Yes even when Bioware does it, though the ME3 demo did have tact and somewhat decent taste when it came to the kid. (And the argument could be made that it was all in Shep's head anyway.)

But the scene in MW3 was just so... Obvious. No, obvious is an understatement. It was clumsy, manipulative, held no purpose to the narrative, just plain insulting and only served to show how badly one can screw up such a scene.

have none of you finished MW3 story the best bit is the last mission especially when Price lights his cigar and just sits back to wait.... however modern 1's nuke is still up there for sheer unexpectedness and wow factor

I was thinking of adding that, it was pretty disturbing how he hung Makarov from a wire like that. If someone else mentions it I'll put it up.

My favorite moment was the first Bomb. While there are mixed opinions on no Russian, I did like it. (Seriously, I will never forget the moment where my LMG was raised at the crowd of people)

The bit at the end of MW2 when you pull a knife out your own chest to kill a guy, baddass.

The Gulag mission was quite cool, i liked the bit in the shower room. It felt just like the scene in The Rock.
