My younger brother seems to think that Blue dragon is the best game ever, and despite repeatedly showing him reviews saying the game is of poor quality, my friends and his both telling him how other games are far better, and accusations of homosexuality, nothing appears to have come of it. So I decided to see what the rest of the people of the world think of the game. I hope you prove me right so I never have to listen to the words "This is the beginning" ever again.

I think 'meh' is the only appropriate response, given that I bought it about two years ago, played it for about two hours and haven't touched it since. It's probably partly because I don't really have the inclination to play a long JRPG at the moment (hence why Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey have sat untouched on my shelf since I bought them nearly a year ago), but y'know, I would've carried on playing if I'd enjoyed it enough to get dragged in. I'll give it another go at some point.
Yeah, but he's played through it three times and won't let me on MY xbox, as he broke his by tugging too hard on his controller, thus sending it hurtling to the floor. Ah...it's a game? I thought we'd be discussing whether or not the blue dragon was a fave. 
For what it's worth, while I like their lightning breath weapon I've always been fond of the black dragon with it's acid breath weapon (melting PCs is just more dramatic than hitting them with lightning bolts.) Anyhoo, back to the accusatory rants of others. :/

If i wasn't, I would let him have the xbox, and take him milk and cookies, and not comment on how he hasn't left the youse all summer. Most people in the world are. I went as far as to buy him Lost Oddesey, a game which I will never say is any good, but is still the same genre as Blue Dragon, but to no avail.Darkleopard said:

I didn't mind the game. I thought the idea behind it was cool. I hated the anime though.

I enjoyed the battle system, the environments and the enemy design... I HATED the characters, the extremely cliche'd story and the beyond aweful Boss Battle Theme.
However... why do you care? If he enjoys it, LET HIM. My little brother loved Breath of Fire 3, I hated it and while I DID the exact same thing you did, it wasn't really the right thing to do, it was a totally dickheaded thing to do.
