Poll: Call of Duty 4 and the M16.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had a rant about this annoyance, but I was curious to see just what were the common opinions people had about this particular weapon in CoD4 online mode.

Yeah I like it. Good for medium-long range work. Which happens to be my favorite range. So it's good for me.

I find it really stupid to blame any one gun, especially if it's one that's in the first default class. If it pisses you off, you have no excuse to not use it yourself.

True, but the martyrdom is at least 70% of the time avoidable and the p90 doesn't have all that much accuracy at a distance. I've been shotguned and sniped by this gun soooo many times.

M16 is the ultimate rape weapon. Hence why I don't use it, I use the worst guns I can lay my hands on.

Just makes it trickier, and better when you beat people.

it seems like all the starter guns are kinda over powered. Also the fact that you can snipe with the M16 and still end up with better or similar results than with a sniper rifle.

I love the M16. I trained myself to use it with a ACOG scope attachment.

Oh don't worry, I have heard very much whining about this gun. I don't care what they use, If they are worse then me, I am happy, if they are better, I don't care what gun they are using.

Ugh, I am sick of going on a crazy killing spree on Hardcore, only to have it ended by a noob who has an M16 with stopping power. Honestly he doesn't even need to hit me with all three bullets. If one round so much as skims me from the M16 boom instant death.

It gets a little lame after a while. Sorry, let me rephrase that, REALLY lame.

It's as close to cheating as it gets in CoD4. That being said, there's no reason not to use it on the majority of medium-range maps. It's just flat out better than the other guns at medium range.

I gotta say, I'm new to Live and multiplayer and I found the M16 a pain in the ass to use, due to it's short bursts. I doesn't seem like a noob gun to me because it's tricky to use without screwing up.

The M4, on the other hand changed my game when I got it... my kills almost doubled... I went from patheticly bad to just bad!

Its not as bad now that they've nerfed it, tho still doesnt take much skill to use it. That being said i miss the old p90, damn u bug fix!

This gun is fair, but the grenade launcher seems a bit extensive, it's two extra frags that you don't have to think about bouncing. But the M4 and P90 are insane.

real life M16 is great. but in COD, people dont exactly shoot like real life. in real life once you die, youre dead forever. so you dont run around like a jackass like ppl do in CoD4. However running around like a jackass doesnt work so well w/ the M16 since it bursts.
