Im thinking of buying a Call of Duty game for my 360. I've been meaning to after borrowing number 2 from a friend on PS2 and loving it. So now I just need to decide which one out of 4 and 5 to get. To me price isn't really an issue as COD5 pre-owned is the same as new COD4 (I don't mind if it's pre-owned). So any opinions on these games would be gladly appreciated.

Not to sound rude but can the people who voted also write a response telling me WHY? Sorry if you're currently posting something...

When CoD5 was released wasn't there quite a few of these threads?

But on topic, CoD4, in my opinion is a far superior game, and the only good thing CoD5 has is Nazi Zombies, and there novelty soon wore off on me anyway.

although I haven't played cod5( so I shouldn't be expressing my opinion) I think cod 4 is a better game, sure it has no 8-coop but it is better in most ways (except in zombies, because as we all know, zombies = awesomeness)

Oh thank God, I thought this was going to be a versus thread at first.

Let's see...I happen to have both and let me just say that I think that COD4 is better overall, but that doesn't mean that COD: WAW should be overlooked so easily. In my opinion COD: WAW basically took everything that was great about COD4 but just set it during WWII.

If you're going to be playing mostly multiplayer, you can't really go wrong with either one, seeing as how they are almost completely the same in terms of the ranking system and challenges. But there are a few changes to the weapons system obviously, like the sniper rifles. Instead of just earning a rifle with a scope, you have to complete the marksman challenges for bolt-action rifles to recieve the scope attachment.

Also, COD: WAW has tanks.

I prefered CoD4 just because of the fact it was simle more fun and i like being in the modern time, it feels as though CoD5 has stepped back which almost annoys me. Oh, and nazi zombies get boring really quickly.

I prefer COD4 for the better story, the better gameplay, and what I found to be an annoying lack of exposition in COD5. In 4, I grew to appreciate the characters, while the sequel bombards the player with generic-looking soldiers who bark orders at you. I didn't care when a character died, in contrast to COD4.

I just personally don't like WW2 shooters, and the fact that COD5 is a WW2 reskin (done by company that made COD3) of COD4 really doesn't help things out.

The Call of Duty 2 on 360 is different to the Call of Duty 2 on the PS2. I personally enjoyed Call of Duty 4 the most out of the series however you cannot go wrong with number 2 either. World at War on the other hand has multiple glitches in the multiplayer and the multiplayer is very unbalanced and there are stupid vehicles.

COD 4 - Simply because it is a better game. The campaign is more exciting, and the game has less bugs (the A.I in WaW is pathetic).

Not a selling point. The controls for the vehicle missions in the Call of Duty games have never been stellar, but they was downright dismal in World at War.

This question is definitely all about personal preference. In any case, my recommendation was for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Yes, they are both essentially the same game in different settings, but Modern Warfare is a much more coherent gaming experience. To me, anyways: the multiplayer seems more fun, the levels seem built better, and the characters don't seem as ridiculous as in World at War.

Plus Price could kick Roebuck's ass any day of the week.

COD4 definitely. It's a very polished game that combines a great storyline with an exceptionally good online. The weapons are pretty well balanced (except for the M16) and the online perks, weapon add-on's, and customizable classes mean that you can mix n' match to your own liking

They are virtually the same except cosmetics, and WaW has a flamethrower and tank. Just pick one based on your favorite war period.
