Poll: call of duty: 4 vs. call of duty world at war

I was in a heated dabate with one of my freinds at school and I wanted to prove to him that cod: 4 was the better shooter oh and I would like a reason why too

CoD4 vastly better! Why!? Because

1. They are basically the same game, but 4 came out earlier,
2. WaW is set in WWII, MW has cool modern weapons and a new idea.
3. Its just.. better ok.

World at War.... I just find Modern Warfare a pathetic excuse to get away from WWII. I'll agree Modern Warfare looks cool (never played it yet). But WWII guns are cooler! Thirdly because I said so

I would have to say that I think they are both basically the same game with different wepons and some perks. I would rather play World at War because it has a better variety of game types, and I've always loved capture the flag.

People who game as about 3 hours a week will say CoD WAW, its the hardcore gamers who will say CoD MW.

Now to hit the final nail in, The Escapist is full of hardcore gamers.

Modern Warfare just feels faster, more intense and exciting, especially in the multiplayer.

It also had some very innovative interactive storytelling moments which I won't spoil but everyone can probably guess.

They are both great though and I can't decide which campaign I prefer...

I like WaW. You have to EARN your sniper scopes and grenade launchers. And they gave you a reason to prestige in the extra custom class slots.

And they gave us co-op. Truth be told, I really don't play either CoD online anymore, seeing as the community is full of people always complaining every time they die about how its not their fault, with such phrases as "THE ***** HAD JUGGERNAUT" (more common on 4, though)

They both kinda suck after a few hours of playing...

I've some of the levels and they're quite nice. But I've grown up with CoD as a WWII shooter. Also I'm really into WWII. So Modern Warfare doesn't all to really appeal to me. So there! Also I might be getting it any despite my thoughts about it!

Call of Duty 4 is far more interesting storywise.
Their gameplay is practically the same, so CoD4 wins.

World at War is basically the same game tried and tested about 20 times already; a bog standard WW2 game.

COD4 is more than just a war game, its an experience. You witness the atrocities of war, such as an execution and a nuclear explosion from a first person perspective, giving you an impression of the horror, fear and absolute destruction of war. You are also kept intrigued as you switch between the many different roles in the game, from the SAS, to the Marines, to doing things like taking control of a AC-130 gun ship.

On top of that COD4 is just fucking awesome fun

Modern Warfare is better, it has Captain Price, and his awesome mustache. It also has my .50 Calibur Sniper Rifle. Mind you I haven't played W@W, but I just assume MW is better.

That's understandable. Truth be told, I felt the same way until I actually got Cod4. It has to be experienced, you know?
