It is a given that a lot of people are going to get Call of Duty Ghosts when it comes out and I was wondering how quickly you're going to upgrade to the XBOX ONE version.

Are you going to immediately buy the XBOX ONE when it comes out on the 22nd of November and upgrade to the XBOX ONE version of the game or are you going to do what I'm going to do and wait a month or two to see how the new hardware operates in the real world before you buy the new console? In other words, wait and see if Microsoft has a repeat of the RROD.

Also, this will determine for me if I should get Ghosts for the 360 on the 5th or if I should wait due to the possiblity that as soon as the XBOX ONE comes out everyone will upgrade and Xbox LIVE on the 360 will be deserted.

I would be incredibly surprised if the 360 version was deserted. I'd be surprised if the Xbox One version had more people than the 360 version by the time the next CoD shows up.

I know a lot of people will cry that the "CoD Fratboys!" will buy whatever you tell them to but that's a $560 investment right off the bat (assuming they already have Live), not to mention the usual rareness of next-gen systems. Besides that, there are going to be those who refrain from upgrading right away because not everyone in their group will or can afford to.

It'll be interesting to see the possibility that the next-gen will crack the fan-base but I'd be very surprised if it did.

Note: I did not vote in the poll for I do not intend to get a next-gen system for at least a few years.

I doubt, if I do upgrade, that I'd do it to the Xbox One version. If anything, I'd be switching over to the PS4.

Anyways, for Ghosts, I'll probably just stick to the 360 version. I seriously doubt that it is going to completely die off within the next year. New consoles are expensive, and if people can just play a game on an old console I'd imagine that many will continue playing on the old console. However, it will be interesting to see exactly what type of fracturing goes on in the CoD community as a result of this and how well it will be able to handle it. The last transition went over smoothly because CoD2 wasn't just the debut of the series on the 360, it was also the debut of the main series on consoles. Still, I doubt it will be seriously affected by the switch to new generation consoles. CoD's fanbase seems a little too big and loyal for that.
