Have cartoons gotten worse over the years or better or the same?

In my opinion cartoons have been getting much much worse.

There we are, I voted for liking you.

Although I think they're getting worse. Less aimed at teens/adults now.

I think they've deteriorated, but I think a lot of people will have that opinion since cartoons are generally annoying if they're background noise, and everybody loves the cartoons they grew up with (like Ed, Edd, and Eddy and ACME hour)

About the same. Even way back when, there were really only a few that were good. We're just comparing those to today's cartoons.

The last newer cartoon (apart from South Park) I liked was Bob Morane.
Other than that I have to say they've become progressively worse.
I blame the anime-influence.

Well all cartoons seemed to be made based on the idea that all the kids are retarded. Some seem just so brain meltingly stupid it's painful

It is because no one wants to spend their time and money on plot any more. All they want is stupid comedy that will catch the kid attention long enough. Most shows in the 90's , maybe early 2000's had some sort of plot. To name a few,

Samaria jack(Awesome show!)- get back to his time and kill Aku.

Zoids(depending on which show) Past one- Defeat the evil empire and bring order to the lands.
future one- win the competition and defeat some evil organization(I forget what they were called.

I could name a few more, if I could remember them.

Nothing is better than old cartoons. As the story was always good beacuse it didn't make sense, never. Now they are just ruined crap.

Well, The Simpsons, Family Guy and Southpark have all gone down the drain, but I still think there are lots of good cartoons out there.

New cartoons suck, that's it.

The only ones I like now are (post-2005?) the Justice League ones, because they are a bit more mature. And Batman Unlimited.

I eat cereal, Eddy.

I swear I know every line ever spoken in that series.

A few of the cartoons now are really good and I still find them funny, even about 5-8 years above their target demographic.

Although some are so obviously for retarded babies that I can't stand to even mention one by name. Or think of one right now, but one will come eventually.
