Have you ever played a game with a morale choice system and decide what kind of person you're going to be before you even pick up the controller? Examples like Fable, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age or something else. And then the unthinkable happens, something happens in the game that makes you drop your identity and completely change.
It doesn't have to be a morale game but something that you just been doing the whole time that you finally got in touch with your character. Like going through an entire game without shooting someone and the last boss pisses you off so much because he killed your friend you shoot him?
Basically I'm asking if you had this moment where you drastically changed your gameplay style just for the game because it seemed "right"
For me it happened in Dragon Age 2, I'll try not to spoil, I was playing a mage and I was being evil and aggressive at every point I could get. Then something happened to Hawke's Mother. When that moment happened on that screen I broke down. Almost teary eyed and completely changed how my character reacted. I no longer chose the 'evil' option and instead went with the nicer/tactful options. I haven't had a moment like that in a long time and I can't say other Bioware games did it for me.
Did you have a moment like this and would you care to share?
