Chances are he will be bored to tears with it. It just doesnt seem like his thing. Although I myself am excited about the game.Raneman said:Civ is nothing like RTS games, it's more like a fine champagne, as opposed to your generic Foster's Beer FPS.
Now that is a good comment!Talshere said:Even Yahtzee would have to go out on a limb to slag Civ off
Essentially it will come down to, do you like the Civ games, if yes you'll like this, if no you wont. its like reviewing a potato. Your hardly revealing anything by attacking game mechanics because they have been the same since I was 2. Combat is essentially D&D with a computer rolling your dice. You know, like when I was 2. Leaving the only real difference being the graphics.
He might as well review the original 1991 civ. You'd end up with the same thing.
Id rather he review something like Ruse.
No unit stacking, from all the previews it is a big change and brings back strategy to the game. I'm excited, because I love Civ. I don't care if Yahtzee reviews it or not.Talshere said:Even Yahtzee would have to go out on a limb to slag Civ off

To be fair Halo-Wars is a substandard RTS...Comando96 said:snip

Ruse is a very different game compared to the standard RTS...
If you want to know Yahtzee's opinion of the standard RTS:

Also he made a reference to the Total War series... which wasn't nice. But I can't find that one.
Im not sure one small change, no matter how key to the mechanics it might be, could keep Yahtzee's rant going for the requisite 4-6 minsoctafish said:No unit stacking, from all the previews it is a big change and brings back strategy to the game. BTW What kind of ignorant moron thinks a Civ game is an RTS? It's missing the R and the T!

Also, Halo wars was on a console, of course it was sub par. Whatever idiot decided to release an RTS exclusive to consoles honestly wants to be shot.
Hehehe! ^^Irridium said:Well, I got it. And I have one major problem so far.
The game isn't on the fucking disk.
No, all the disk does is install DirectX. I have to actually download the rest of the game. I didn't buy a retail copy to fucking download the game. I bought the retail copy so I won't have to spend 3 fucking days downloading the fucking game god dammit. Put the full game on the fucking disk you asshats.
There, rant over. Sorry to fill your thread with my rage but I didn't want to start a thread about it.
If I'd have known they be hateful enough to not include the game on the game disk I would have bought it off Steam. But I didn't, because I didn't want to spend a long ass time downloading the game. This is one reason people buy retail in the first place.oliveira8 said:Hehehe! ^^Irridium said:Well, I got it. And I have one major problem so far.

Steam gave pre-loads for those who pre-purchased the game, through Steam. The game only is released in here on the 24th but played the Demo and the meager 100 turns were awesome. Friday never arrives....
