So as the title suggests, for today only (and probably permanently soon) Black Ops is $40 on Amazon. I told myself I wouldn't spend more than that on yet another new CoD title, especially one with such harsh criticism surrounding it. The real dilemma that lies with me is, I literally JUST got both Dead Space 2 and Bad Company 2 last week and I've barely had a chance to touch them (stupid Valentine's Day!). It seems online that BadCo. 2 is better suited for when I can sit down and get involved in long matches, versus Blops being more for getting a quick game fix. So my quandary is, is it worth $40 to purchase a game just for its popularity online, even though I just got these other 2 well revered games.

If you're bored of CoD, this one will not rekindle your interest in the series.

It's a good value, however, and if you're not bored, it's a lot of fun for quite a while.

It's an alright game. I guess it depends on how much you love the franchise I suppose. Not much has changed from CoD:MW2 to Black Ops though. A few new perks, some old perks, some have been removed. Some new kill streaks, some old ones, some are gone. The maps (in my opinion) aren't as enjoyable as the previous installments. I can't say for the new DLC since I don't tend to buy them. All in all, I didn't find it worth $40.00, but then again I paid $60.00 (silly me!).

I agree. Black Ops is one of the best CoD games in a long time, but its multiplayer map design isn't very good.

It's got a lot of value: it comes with a pretty good campaign, an addictive multiplayer scene, a great cooperative mode and a few extras which are pretty cool. If you're into COD, or at least think you'd enjoy it, then I would say it's worth it.

Don't. It is no where near as good as the other CoD releases. I'd suggest Brink thats coming out in March. Maybe even Crysis 2.

To be honest, yes.

If you don't like it, you now have experiences to ***** about if the topic ever comes up. And you can also judge people's opinions on the game accurately then.

If you're willing to pay those 40 bucks for 5-6 hours of singleplayer entertainment - yes, it is. If you have any hopes on the multiplayer at all, it's not by any measure.
