Despite the fact that the vast majority of people have been booing Dragon Age 2, I got it yesterday and have begun playing. I actually sort of enjoy it thus far. I use the phrase "sort of", because I'm having to skip reading all the codex pages, journal descriptions, and dialog subtitles because Bioware seems to think that no one who plays console games will be doing so on a ten year old 16" TV. And this brings us to today's question:

Console gamers, how big is the television you play games on, and is it HD or Standard?

No hating on consoles, console gamers, or people too poor to afford a better TV.

Edit: For the non-American Escapists, 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters

I don't play on a Tv, I have my consoles hooked up to one of my computer monitors. It's a 24 inch BenQ, better picture less cost. The Tv channels in new Zealand are so crap its almost not worth owning one. I do have a 48 inch SD Tv in the lounge but the only thing hooked up to that is my wii. My ps2 and xbox 360 are both hooked up to my hdmi monitor.

19 inches, high def.

Kind of emasculated by my PC moniter which is 1080p and 22 inches, but there you go.
It's still for for gaming a good two metres away, regardless.

For the record, I both console and PC game, and enjoy them both for what they're good for.

My 42" LED TV is for my consoles AND my PC, I also have a 24" LED monitor to the right of it so I can have internet and games at the same time, makes it very easy if I get stuck and have to load up a guide. Oh, and it's Sony Bravia, not some cheap LG or something, quality matters to me.

I have a 17" HD, but I'm saving up for a 24" one for better quality. It would be 32", but my desk only has so much room. 24" will have to be big enough :D

Playing on a 32" SD (Standard Definition) TV old "box" TV, it's a bit annoying though when I was playing ME2 or Dragon Age 2 demo and I have to squint and walk up to the TV to see what it says, so tiny text =/

I can't afford to buy a new HD TV just so I can read the text.

Same here, except I have a 32" bravia with a 19" acer lcd screen next to it for the same reason.

52" Bravia, I think it's to big for gaming, but that was the minimum size my dad wanted to go. He dreams of a home projection cinema, but atm there's no room for that.

I have 2 TVs, a 48" Sony LCD and a 52" Sharp LCD.

I play a lot of splitscreen so I don't think I could ever play on something smaller than 36".

32" HD TV (720p), with a PS3, XBox 360, PS2, rudimentary PC 5.1 speaker system, Turtle Beach Earforce X1's, a 2TB external hard drive and two 500gb portable hard drives plugged into my PS3, a very old PC and an even older VHS player.

Long term I will be ugrading to a 42" TV with full HD and devoted blu ray player and a proper 7.1 receiver and surround sound *sighs* one day.

I have 2 really a 38inch HD in my room that I use as a PC monitor as well
and a 50inch HD in the living room when my dad isn't using it.

My bedroom setup:

yes that is wow but I'm "on the wagon" now
and yes that is a sure SM58 taped to the desk for talk back I didn't see the point in buying a headset when I had a perfectly good (better in fact) mic to hand.

That pic was just after my mic stand broke, its not just for gaming I'm a musition/producer/sound designer as well hence the active monitor speakers.

After I got my current job I got myself a nice 42" HDTV to go with my ps3... it makes everything pretty awesome (and makes it a lot easier to pick up the darn ball when batting in MLB The Show)

ACK!!! Default UI!!! /run /hide /cry

OT: We have a 42" HD insignia in the bedroom. Some time (this year, *crosses fingers*) going to upgrade our old CRT 32" HD tv to a larger flatscreen.
