Hello there denizens of the escapist!

So I have three friends and each of them tells me that a different game is THE GAME to buy.
One friend says Dragon Age Origins is the epitome of an RPG. Expansive, lush, deep, and a fair amount of replay value for a single player game. I myself have been WoW sober for 2 or so years now and I do sometimes feel the need to play a fantasy sword and spell RPG.

Another friend campaigns for L4D2 and is convinced that the game has endless replay value and thinks it's the game I should throw my 50 dollars at. I never owned L4D but I played it enough at lan centers and what not to know that it's a blast. Did L4D2 expand on this? Or just bombard it with content and not bother really updating the fun factor?

Third and final buddy says Fallout 3 is the way to go. Essentially the same argument as DA:O but with guns and exploding faces.

To defend myself. This post was NOT made to be a flame war. Or discuss which game is better. My question comes down to this. Which of these three has the most replay value? If this type of post is unwelcome, I apologize. As you can see by post count I am new to these parts of the interweb.

EDIT: HURR stupid me. This is being bought for PC. I have a computer good enough to run any of the three at full settings =)

I'm an Aussie, so my version of L4D2 isn' brilliant. And I've seen dragon age being played/played some myself and I'd like to save you this horror. Get F3. You'll laugh, you'll cry, it'll change your life.

Also, come on, GUNS AND EXPLODING FACES!! :D

Is FO3 GotY? Is so, then it. Otherwise, DA:O if you want a RPG now, and L4D2 if you're planning to get ME2.

Dragon Age and Fallout are both great games, do you like action more or RPG more?

Fallout 3. Over a year after I first picked it up, I still come back to it. Between all my Fallout 3 characters (including 4 level 30's), I have more playtime than my World of Warcraft toons (including 2 level 80's).

Hell, I even ended up getting it three times, so I could play it in every room in my house except the toilet and bathroom. They need to bring out a version for the PSP...

I personally find L4D2 kinda lacking in replayability for some reason, and while Fallout 3 is good, it can NEVER stand up to the awesomeness of Oblivion IMO... So from a guy that owns all 3, I'm gonna have to go with Dragon Age and it's 90 hours of gameplay, with Fallout 3 in a close second. However, all 3 would be the ideal situation :D

Question about FO3 and DA:O. How is the customization? I have heard it can take FOREVER to make a character in DA:O but haven't heard much about FO3. I like to feel like a special little snowflake when I play an RPG.

Well it depends how you get replayability out of other games. Do you replay single player games alot?Do you hate multiplayer?

If you want any multiplayer l4d2 is the only game ofcourse.

Edit:Basically Left 4 Dead 2 is one of the funnest games to play online with other people, and boring to play buy yourself, if you hate other people do not get this game, even play the campaign with other people.

If you want singleplayer, Dragon age Origins, if you want multiplayer L4d2.

I didn't like fallout 3 because of the barren landscape. So I'm biased in that I prefer oblivion to it. (They feel like the same game to me).

Myself I would get L4d2, I've been having such a great time playing it.

Don't get L4D2 and expect it to be your fallback game. It's really only something you can play every once in awhile and still maintain some measure of entertainment; not to say that it's bad, it just needs a break every once in awhile.

Fallout 3. Mod community has been around longer, more stuff to sift through to mix up your game and literally up your replay value twenty-fold.

Although DA:O does intrigue me, I have never played it. So factor that in. However the mods point stands tall, and I heavily advise you to factor that in greatly.

It's a tough call between DA:O and L4D2 for me. L4D2 does expand greatly on what L4D did. more weapon variety, more enemy variety, more level variety, different play modes, (realism and scavenge) I've only played it split screen on the 360 and I've enjoyed it immensely thus far.

Dragon Age: origins is a great game with a ton of great rpg elements and plenty of replayability. It's very tactical. You're expected to pause and plan your method of attack. If you just go in swords swingin' and spells blazing, you will die. repeatedly. If you're someone that likes strategizing both before and in the middle of battle, and you expect to not do a lot of multiplayer gaming, then go for DA:O.

Dragon Age is better than I thought it would be but Fallout 3 was what I wanted it to be.
