Capcom has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is currently in development.

The press release is light on details but mentions "Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault."

Will Fortune City be loosely based on Las Vegas? Sounds like it. Dead Rising was one of Capcom's surprise hits two years ago, along with Lost Planet. Fix that save system and we'll definitely be there for the sequel...

How about none of the above? Dead Rising wasn't a good game in my opinion and part 2 will probably won't change that.

I'm not going to get it because Dead Rising is boring after about 5 minutes and from the screen shots it looks just like the last one.

C) Well considering they just announced it...

A)First of all, when I played DR on the 360, I loved it, it was the most fun game I have in my collection right next to Fallout 3 and Castlevania SOTN.
B) To see IF ANYONE would buy the game and for which console.
C) Just announced AFTER several months of lawsuit business with George A.Romero between disputes over the game AND the developers won.

I'm not going to get it because Dead Rising is boring after about 5 minutes and from the screen shots it looks just like the last one.

I though Dead Rising suffered from a frustrating difficulty curve. Once killing zombies was no longer the most entertaining thing in the universe for me I thought the game was over but I actually continued to see where the story ended up. Far from perfect but certainly an enjoyable game. Though that final boss figh was a bit of an annoyance.

If I get it, I'll get it for my PC.

Not because my PC has better graphics and processing power than my 360 (and nice bonus), but because I'll be able to use Xpadder on my 360's controller to re-map the controls to a scheme I can use.

I found the first game's controls so bad and unintuitive that I game up playing after a while.
