My friend and I were arguing over how to spell Disc (disk) like as in an Xbox 360 game disc (disk). And I was wondering, which one of us is right? So I was wondering what the all of you think is right

I always figured it was disc if you're talking about the circly plastic things you put in computers and game consoles and DVD players.

Disk only refers to the floppy kind as far as I know.

disk, short for diskette (as in old school floppys.). Disc is the accepted spelling of today, however.

We are typing the English language, are we not? The language that heavily uses and abuses the letter C in order to look far more sophisticated than other Germanic languages, is it not? Yes, it is indeed C.

You have Google.

Just Google "disk and disc" and it will tell you both are correct, but sometimes a 'k' is used more than a 'c' (and visa versa) for certain types of disk/c.

disc is something like a DVD or CD, where as disk is something like HDD(Hard Disk Drive)
If your talking about a Xbox game its disc.
